When we praise someone we tell Him how wonderful [we think] he is, or how great his accomplishments are. It is the same with God. All true praise has something to do with acknowledging and focusing on God’s nature, character and power. It has elements of complimenting, glorifying, honouring and exalting God. Praise also involves joyful thanking and adoring of God, and celebration of his goodness and grace. To have effective praise we need to understand the attitude of God, the object of our praise. We have to know God. As we praise we focus on God’s; self-sufficiency, eternity, totality, love, presence, greatness, glory, uniqueness, holiness, Excellency, strength, reliability, majesty, creativity, generosity, ability, justice, beauty, kindness, forgiveness, faithfulness, powerfulness, righteousness, mercifulness, joy, stability, wonderfulness, truthfulness, patienc

So many times we are busy fighting over the way things should be done we are quarreling over the format and manner in which things should be done. At times we are at loggerheads because of content, genre, music instruments, day and time, we forget that it is God who should determine where we stand and who we become.   Worship is one gift given to mankind that allows him to connect up with the divine presence of God, Worship allows us access to Him and his presence. Most people want to focus on what worship is and isn’t, today our focus is to look at the types of worship. Worship comes in so many forms and we not looking at which one is correct but we are looking at the various types 1.         Vain worship “ But in vain do they worship me, teaching as their doctrines the precepts of men ”.   Mark 7:7. Vain according to the Oxford Dictionary says use someone’s name in a way that shows a lack of respect for example “ take someone's name in vain ”. It’s easy to come to a place where we no longer reverence or honour the name of God and we do all we do professing that we are worshipping God and we don’t even have any idea of what we are doing.
