Worship Is and Can Be Dangerous Part 4

Image
Worship is and can be dangerous to everyone around you especially if it is bounces from heaven. We have to take time to learn how to handle a knife before we can use it. Worship is a great blessing to the body of Christ as it allows us direct access to the throne room anytime of the day but it can also destroy us if handled wrongly just like knife. Today we start in 1 Samuel 13 where we meet King Saul facing war with the Philistines and they set a very huge army “thirty thousand chariots, and six thousand horsemen, and people were like the sand which was on the sea shore in multitude”. Saul brought all Israel to the war ground, so that they could fight with the Philistines, one huge problem was that Israel was in terror and was frightened of the huge Philistines army that was against them. “And he tarried seven days, according to the set time that Samuel had appointed: but Samuel came not to Gilgal; and the people were scattered from him. And Saul said, Bring hithe

In 2 Samuel 6:3, we meet King David carrying the Ark of The Lord into Jerusalem upon an ox drawn cart with huge celebrations and festive ambiances, ululating, dancing and music which were shortly cut when Uzzah was struck down by God as he was helping the stumbling Ark of the Lord.   “And the anger of the LORD was kindled against Uzzah; and God smote him there for his err or; and there he died by the ark of God” 2Sa 6:7s   When the Ark was in the presence of the Philistines they were attacked by different diseases, Dagon fell face wards when the Ark was housed in the temple of Dagon. The Philistines shuddered when they heard noises in the Camp of Israel they knew that the Ark of God was brought into their camp. There are so many   points that we can learn from this story but the key ones for this article are listed below 1. The ark was carried in an ox drawn cart or covered wagon it was a Philistine system in which they used to transport the Presence of God whic

“The presence of God must have its full power, and the flesh must be silent before Him” Nadab and Abihu where man of God they were anointed and blessed and even capped with knowledge, sons of the Highest Priest, Aaron and nephews to the deliver of Israel Moses and they had just ordained as the first order of priests in the whole community of Israelites. “And Nadab and Abihu, the sons of Aaron, took either of them his censer and put fire therein, and put incense thereon, and offered strange fires before the LORD, which he commanded them not. And there went out fire from the LORD, and devoured them, and they died before the LORD”. Lev 10:1-2 Several things to note in this passage of Scripture is that 1. They didn't have orders to burn the incense because a Priest had to wait for his turn to come for him to serve in the temple Luke 1:9. Note that its only one priest not two who were to burn incense          2. They had just been ordained as priests, in the pr

How Familiarity Kills Worship

Image
“What will take you to the top will sustain you at the top”, it’s a statement that I was taught when I was growing in the Lord. Funny enough I have been in place where I have gotten to the top and ditched this principle and the results where catastrophic in my life and the shame they brought its crazy. As worshipper and Christians we are slowly loosing reverence and honour to the things which are so important in life. Worship is one elements of the life of a Chr istian which can be destroyed by familiarity What familiarity will do: ·          Altar or stage The way you see it as either a stage or it’s an altar, if it’s a stage then you perform and if it is the altar then its holy ground and the way you conduct yourself there will determine your worship. I have been standing here since I was 6yrs old, I know how to do this, that’s familiarity, what if, God wants to break out in a different way unlike never before used to doing this and it has become an oh! that groun

The Effect of Sin On Our Worship

Image
Psalm 51: 2-3 Wash me thoroughly from mine iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin. For I acknowledge my transgressions: and my sin is ever before me. The centre of human life is the heart and this same heart is the same source of our worship. The heart is the heart of human existence. An unclean source of water gives out unclean water and its the same with our hearts. Think about it, why does God keep pressing that we live our lives for Him.  Worship is the best place for us to know him and create a relationship with him through the Holy Spirit. God wants us to experience his presence always and sin inhibits us from the place. Sin and iniquity are sent to attack the source of our worship, the heart, to taint it and destroy everything in the  path. You find David crying out his heart to God create in me a clean heart and renew our spirit oh God, so that what had suffocated because of sin and iniquity may come alive. So many times we sweep sin under the carpet and w
