Preparing For The Move Of God - Purity

Image
So many times we are so concerned and worried about how we sound and how we are being seen, the image of our lives, how PC (Politically Correct) we are. We are concerned about our image, how deep people think we are, what will people say after we leave the room or we lead worship on Sunday. We try our best to use the music, clothes, our voice to try and portray how deep and awesome we are in life. When you look back at the end of the day what is important is that have we stood in our place and allowed or facilitated God  to meet men and men to meet God. We want things to happen when we pray and when we lead worship, or when we do that solo or that special in church or at an outreach. Impact starts with us, individually as Worshippers and one of the things that causes us to see things happen in our lives is when we allow the word of a God to purify and clean us. Just like in Psalms 12: 6-7 which says "The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth,

When Should We Praise God

Image
This Article was done by Taka Sande our Guest Blogger talking about Praise When Should We Praise God? ◈ At all times. “I will bless the Lord at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth” [Psalms 34:1]. ◈ In times of depression. “Why art thou cast down, O my soul? And why art thou disquieted within me? hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him, who is the health of my countenance, and my God” [Psalms 42:11] ◈ Among the people. “I will praise thee, O Lord, among the people: I will sing unto thee among the nations” [Psalms 57:9]. ◈ All day long. “From the rising of the sun unto the going down of the same the Lord's name is to be praised” [Psalms 113:3]. “Let my mouth be filled with thy praise and with thy honour all the day” [Psalms 71:8]. ◈ In everything. “Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ” [Eph 5:20]. What Hinders Us From Praising God? There are many reasons why Christians do not praise God. The

Worship: The Glory Of God

Image
The glory of the Lord is what we live for, to bring him glory. In old English they would say glory is to ascribe or give back the honour and splendor to him who deserves it. Glory in Hebrew and Greek speaks of splendor, light, rarity, honour beauty and abundance.  God is already full of glory (honour, power, majesty, rarity) and there is nothing we can do to change it. He already receives perfect worship from all angels and heavenly beings. We can not change that and we can’t subtract from that, He remains God but glorifying God is the essence of our lives. “For thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, and hast crowned him with glory and honour”, Psalms 8:5 KJV This glory within us that has been crowned upon man is what causes people like Jay Z to call themselves Jehovah. It is that glory within man that causes many to seek after themselves and not God. “That no flesh should glory in his presence”, Corinthians 1:29 God spoke about it that we shouldn’t glory in our

Characteristics Of A Worshipper

Image
Being a child of God and being called a Christian qualifies a person to be a worshipper, whether you have a sweet voice or a horsey voice, whether you can dance or you have CRD (Caucasian Rhythm Disorder) in God’s books you qualify as a worshipper. The name of a person reveals their character and the quality of worship reveals the character of a worshipper . Just like the names of God reveal his character and a worshipper is known his or her character. Characteristics of a Worshipper Brokenness and Humility   “ The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise” Psalms 51:17  “The LORD is nigh (near) unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit” Psalms 34:18 “Because your heart was tender, and thou didst humble thyself before God, when thou heard his words against this place, and against the inhabitants thereof, and humbled thyself before me, and didst rend thy clothes, and

The Mistaken Myth Truth About Surrender!

Image
Worship is all about surrender, giving clearance for a higher authority to take over your life, surrendering our lives, jobs, family and our destinies to the power of God. That worship. Surrender according to dictionary means: Give up possession of something: to relinquish possession or control of something because of coercion or force, surrender territory, surrender your passport Declare yourself defeated: to declare to an opponent that he or she has won so that fighting or conflict can cease These are the world views on surrender and according to the Microsoft dictionary states that surrender is when we relieve ourselves the right to rule our lives and we give that right to God. Relinquishing the power that we have and giving it to God, that’s what worship is all about. It’s not just an action that you can do but it’s a lifestyle lived not a once off act, it’s not just lifting your hands or singing a surrender song. It is setting your life to have

Worship In Truth

Image
Worship In Truth   Truth in the bible has been translated to cover this words firmness, stability, constancy and also faithfulness, honesty, justice and also uprightness “Truth also means being honest with God”. Jesus said the only truth was to be found in God’s word for it is this word that is true. The greatest worshipper on earth is the one who understands and has communion with the word of God. You can’t worship someone you don’t know and the best way to know God is to read and commune with His word. “O send out thy light and thy truth: let them lead me; let them bring me unto thy holy hill, and to thy tabernacles.   Then will I go unto the altar of God, unto God my exceeding joy yea, upon the harp will I praise thee, O God my God Psalms 43:3-4 “Sanctify them in truth, thy Word is truth”, John 17:17. Know who He is and worship Him with revelation,  scripture wonderfully directs and enriches our worship.  Our worship should be directed and guided by the wo

Worshipping From The Heart....

Image
Courtesy : www. topnews.in How We Worship Reason 1 There are so many reason how we worship and I have realised that there are so many of them but if all of our worship isn't based from the heart we are busy self entertaining.  Our bodies are the temples of the Holy Spirit and our hearts are the altars of sacrifice. The worship of God starts from the heart. God is not moved by the expressions we do in worship but the heart that is behind the expression just as one man said “true worship is felt inwardly and expressed through actions and expressions. God desires that worship flow from a broken, clean, contrite, open, pure heart has is bent on worshipping God alone. “Worship without the heart becomes stage play” “Rather let your heart be without words than for your words o be without a heart” Matt Redman “Worship is an occupation of the hearts with God Himself not its own needs”. Jesus spoke of the Samaritan woman that it was not place of worship that

What Worship Is All About

Image
Worship is the central part of God and heaven but is the most misunderstood part of human life. Someone once wrote if it’s a pattern of heaven then we should emulate it in our lives but when we look around creation in worshipping but man is walking with worship of self or desire to worship God but do not know why. www.cyberbrethren.com Worship isn’t just an idea, a person, or a thing it is a lifestyle that God has called us to leave. Genesis 1 speaks about the mandate of man multiply, subdue and fill the earth, I’m very curious person God wouldn’t just create us to make children, rule earth and then he has heaven full of multiplies angels, subduing all the three heaven and filling the galaxy and centering everything around worship. Kingdom of God resembles all these mandate of man but they are wrapped around worship, we have received the mandate but we didn’t receive the core of the mandate, Worship “O Lord, open thou my lips; and my mouth shall shew forth thy praise
