Words or No Words, Lyrics or No Lyrics, I Can Worship God

Image
Personally I love one thing that I have been noticing in the body of Christ that people are starting to understand that worship isn’t just singing songs or playing music but that Worship is beyond lyrics. We then have a crop of people in the same space who don’t know what to do if they don’t have music or words, yes they know that worship is beyond that but then what else can they do. “For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's”. 1 Corinthians 6:20 John Wesley said this in response to this verse “Yield your bodies and all their members, as well as your souls and all their faculties, as instruments of righteousness to God. Devote and employ all ye have, and all ye are, entirely, unreservedly, and forever, to his glory.” Our bodies are meant to glorify God, outside words, lyrics and music our lives can minister glory, our bodies can bless the Lord through the way we live daily and the way we carry ourselves in

Teach Us To Worship

Image
So many times we are busy fighting over the way things should be done we are quarreling over the format and manner in which things should be done. At times we are at loggerheads because of content, genre, music instruments, day and time, we forget that it is God who should determine where we stand and who we become. At the other hand we are like the Israelites when they wanted o bring back the ark of the covenant form the hands of the philistine and there at the threshold when the ark stumbled and then Uzzah who was seated driving the ox drawn cart reached out to hold the ark from falling and God struck him dead right there at the spot. King David wasn’t chaffed and went all out at God, even me I was like God what wrong did Uzzah. Reading through a book I learnt that Philistine gods where always carried on a brand new ox drawn cart and Israel wanted to carry the same Philistine (worldly) model to answer a God problem or challenge. King David ordered a search be do

How To Touch Generations Through Worship

Image
Touching generations though worship isn't the real intention we stand and lift up the name of Jesus. With our world full of different generations plus the future generations, we see that worship reaches to that whole spectrum. Touching generations is a byproduct of our worship, it's not the focus but God blesses us in return with the ability to touch a generations. Reading though Psalms I have learnt something about Worship, it's not just declaring or showing forth his word but It is also a means to witness, proclaiming and herald the message of the kingdom to the current generation both old and young, unbelievers and generations to come. 1. "One generation shall praise thy works to another, and shall declare thy mighty acts. I will speak of the glorious honour of thy majesty, and of thy wondrous works". Psalms 145:4-5. It shows that as we worship we are speaking and declaring the message of God to the world and to the generations to come making

The Bible The Worshipper: Which is Which

Image
She would say if you are going to be in this choir, band or banners you need to read, live and understand the word of God. In my mind I would be like oh yah, how does singing and reading the bible connect but it took me a while till I got the understanding of how important it is to know his word. I was reminded of this a few days ago I was reading an article by Herald of His Coming, June 2011 edition and there was a statement in that was the newspaper magazine that struck a chord within me and it said “How can you have the precepts of the Holy Scriptures coursing through your mind that much without being radically changed by them” As I read this statement this scripture this scripture came to mind “Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee” Psalms 119:11 David speaks and says I have hidden you word in my heart that I may not sin against you, so his word runs through our blood system there is a shift and change not just of the mind but of the charact

Strings Attached Worship

Image
Arm Twist Worship and Worshipping for a breakthrough or worshipping without string attached out of love, no obligations. God knows all our desire before we even ask for them in prayer, even in fasting and I always says that it is better to come before the Lord and worship Him out of the abundance of your heart and not hold back. Arm Twist worship as I call it, is when we worship the Lord because we need deliverance, I worship the Lord big time when I need something to from Him. Those that live in an attitude of worship don’t even need to ask all they do is lift their hands, mouths and hearts and just declare the Lord and before they are done whatever they desired in their hearts that Lord would have fulfilled. This is the heart that I have always carried that it’s better to be in a place where it’s not an obligation to worship the Lord but that it’s an opportunity well given, it wasn’t the same when I read these scriptures:   “Then came to him the mother o

Why Worship Wars Wont Work

Image
We are busy killing each other in the churches which type of worship or music should be the one that is acceptable and does it fit the right in to the doctrine of the church and the founding fathers of the ministry. I have realized that God receives all offering and sacrifices but what is important is does your sacrifice bring glory to God? Instead of us fighting and causing churches to split because we are not agreeing with everyone why can’t we not spend our time in asking the Lord the manner in which He wants us to worship him. We all cannot be like Hillsong, the huge Mississippi Mass Choir or Planet Shakers or Donnie Mclurkin but one thing that’s for sure is that we should strive to bring glory to the Lord. Remember what we want is not what God wants. “ This is the thing which the LORD commanded that ye should do: and the glory of the LORD shall appear unto you ”, Leviticus 9:6. It’s not about fighting which genre of music should accompany our worship but the focus of

Why We Shout For Joy or Offer A Joyful Noise..

Image
To utter a sudden and loud outcry, usually in joy, triumph or exultation, A loud burst of voice or voices Shout and Joyful Noise come from the same Hebrew root word which is “Rua” and it means to shout figuratively means to split the ears ( with sound) raise a sound or blow an alarm a cry out, give a blast Shouting or a Joyful Noise is not a timid whisper, I’m shouting in my heart. It’s an explosive joyful noise to God! It goes beyond a small voice or loud voice it’s actually loud for a reason. The meaning for a shout and also for a joyful noise are the same that I feel they can be used interchangeably. Shouting was used to mean singing aloud and also to express victory in the bible like when the walls of Jericho. Shouting is also used to express a sudden joy and happiness it was used alarm or danger and this was later replaced with a trumpets and warning drums. One other use it was used for was a cry for help to the Lord.   “When the ark of
