 My story before we can go any further, I was part of an amazing 70 plus member choir for over 5 years before I moved to play percussion in the band for another 2 years. Whilst I was in my second year in the choir I was just an ordinary tenor singer, I went to a small little church and when they heard that I was from the big choir and they said help us teach us to that which you know and before I knew it they appointed me to be a worship leader in their interdenominational gathering. You must be asking, what's your point? You might just be a singer in a huge choir or small choir it doesn't matter there is a day when you lead people in worship, so let's start learning worship leading. Whether you are a worship leader, singer, ordinary person, musician or whatever, we need to learn and know how to lead people into the presence of God. Our lives and worship services should be place where we get to see the move and work of God. Our lives should be the place where we create, cleanse, prepare the messenger in anticipation for the Message. Our primary place and reason of being anointed as worship leaders is to bring man to the feet of Jesus, to bring man to the place where they connect with the presence of God. One of the most technical things I learnt is that you cannot give away what you don't have. You can never take people to the place where you have never been either can you direct them. So many worshippers, we want to give want we don't have and if we endeavour to give away something then we ought to have it within us. We are living in era and season when men are just existing, there is so much coming against him especially the life of the Christian on a daily basis and that’s the reason why He is crushed beyond words. People walk into church services, conferences and concerts the still leave the same but we claim that Christ offers solutions. When you hear people such they are giving up on God, as Worshippers we have missed a huge part of our purpose and reason for existence. We are carriers of the ark of the covenant (glory of God) and we have stashed it somewhere away from the church to experience the presence of God because we ourselves have become dull and lifeless. If we are going to see a move of God coming through our time and generation then the we need to move to a place where a scripture like John 6:63 speaks of "It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life". Attaining or seeing a move of God or the power of God sweeping over all things in our sphere of influence starts with us the Worshippers. It's not someone else job or idea it actually start with us, we are the link to this and the power is then seen when we are corporate agreement to one thing. In our pursuit to see people change, in our pursuit to see the altar of God and the move of God in and amongst the people we serve and lead, we have to come to a place where we know who God is personally and come to a place where we have a resolve that is unshakeable. As worshippers the best way to know the God is by us spending time with the word of God and seeing it become alive in our lives. When we stay in the word we will come up to a place where we meet scriptures like these that say "So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it". Before we can even understand the concept of the word we need to have a personal relationship with the word and truth of God we need to learn to have a relationshipwith the spirit of God, He alone will cause us to know the truth of God written in his word. Jesus said that the spirit will help us to understand and know the truths of God and will bring into remembrance of what we will have learnt. He shall show us how to apply this very word in our lives and He knows how to make the word go alive in us. The songs we sing today, do we take time to think through them and do we take time to understand what they mean and the impact they have on our lives and future. Every song has an effect on the singer and to the one it’s been sung to. Watch what you sing and to who. To see if a song qualifies as a biblical and acceptable worship song to God let us look at 2 Chronicles 20:21 “ And when he had consulted with the people, he appointed singers unto the LORD, and that should praise the beauty of holiness, as they went out before the army, and to say, Praise the LORD; for his mercy endureth forever ”.   As they worshipped God that very morning 1.       Did their songs reflect worshipful hearts? And do the songs we sing today reflect our hearts or we just offer lip service just as the word states they speak but their hearts are far from me. Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks, the song rolling out of our mouth are they reflecting the conditions of our hearts

Worship is a relationship between the worshipper and the God who is being worshipped and it requires only a man and God. It’s not about a group, church, congregation or anything its one man and one God, worship is the time that a person has with God. Whilst praise in an expression of admiration and appreciation, worship is an expression of love and adoration. It is possible to admire someone and appreciate what they do without loving them. Worship has to do with our love for the Lord that is, giving Him our whole heart and life. We express our feelings towards God. The power of praise is a weapon in spiritual warfare. “For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds” [2Cor 10:4]. All victories, whether the result is an instan3taneous deliverance from a circumstance or simply strength to endure a long difficult trial, flow from God’s nature and character alone. God’s manifest presence is our victory, and praise makes room for the fullness of his presence. “But thou art holy, O thou that inhabits the praises of Israel” [Psalms 22:3]. If God inhabits our praise then, praising saturates the circumstance with God’s manifest presence. God set up his throne or dwells where his people praise him. We say a herd of cattle, a congregation of Christians, but we say a ‘palace of praise.’ Because it is God’s dwelling place. Satan cannot operate in God’s manifest presence. You know the Old Testament was cool but we don’t live there anymore we now live under the dispensation of grace, someone said as I talked about holiness and worship. You know Jesus died for our sins and what we are today is by his grace and I realized this kind of teaching has come with the same gospel of universal salvation. If you don’t know what that Is the gospel of universal salvation says everyone shall be saved at the end of the world including the devil himself will be saved because of God’s infinite grace. In their eyes holiness, sanctity, offering is of the Old Testament. How Holiness has lost in place in worship is because we have allowed some form of teaching which isn’t of God to fill and flood our lives and our families. The glory of the Lord is what we live for, to bring him glory. In old English they would say glory is to ascribe or give back the honour and splendor to him who deserves it. Glory in Hebrew and Greek speaks of splendor, light, rarity, honour beauty and abundance. God is already full of glory (honour, power, majesty, rarity) and there is nothing we can do to change it. He already receives perfect worship from all angels and heavenly beings.
