That Altar of Worship

Image
An altar is a place of sacrifice, a place where divinity met with man and it’s the place where God still meets mankind. Altars are not just an Old Testament thing but all of us have our place of sacrifice that’s our altar right there. We are not talking of the pulpit area in your church, the stage or the front where the choir sings from. An altar is not picked up on the floor like a coin which you have dropped and altar has to be built from scratch with the blueprint from God. Every time the patriarchs build an altar and sacrificed on that altar God responded and met them on the very same place. Yes we no longer kill animals these days but we have been made the temple of the most high “And let them make me a sanctuary; that I may dwell among them”. Exodus 25:8 KJV and then Hebrews 8:2 KJV says “…the true tabernacle, which the Lord pitched, and not man”. God desires that He, be a huge part of our lives and may we also reciprocate such a heart by the way we offer ourselves to him. Chri

Preparing For The Move Of God - Purity

Image
So many times we are so concerned and worried about how we sound and how we are being seen, the image of our lives, how PC (Politically Correct) we are. We are concerned about our image, how deep people think we are, what will people say after we leave the room or we lead worship on Sunday. We try our best to use the music, clothes, our voice to try and portray how deep and awesome we are in life. When you look back at the end of the day what is important is that have we stood in our place and allowed or facilitated God  to meet men and men to meet God. We want things to happen when we pray and when we lead worship, or when we do that solo or that special in church or at an outreach. Impact starts with us, individually as Worshippers and one of the things that causes us to see things happen in our lives is when we allow the word of a God to purify and clean us. Just like in Psalms 12: 6-7 which says "The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth,

Worshippers Manuscript...

So many times we desire and do our best to chase after God and make sure that our worship is on point and that it grows and most times we rarely have place of information about how to do it. God has already set for us a manual which as worshippers we should be able to know and live by. "Turn you at my reproof: behold, I will pour out my spirit unto you, I will make known my words unto you".  Proverbs 1:23 KJV  God's heart is always and will always be for the advancement of people and one of the things that will bring advancement in someone life is just the concept of reading and applying the word. Before we can even understand the concept of the word we need to have a personal relationship with the word and truth of God we need to learn to have a relationship with the spirit of God, he alone will cause us to know the truth of God written in his word. Jesus said that the spirit will help us to understand and know the truths of God and will bring into remembrance

The Worshippers Battle

Image
Preservation means you are being kept for a good future good use. When you preserve something you keep it in a safe place and your intention is to use it one day and you know that the present moment of time  it's not the season or time. The biggest battle that each worshipper faces is that whoever you are and how long you have been a worshipper  and worship leader you will always find yourself locked with yourself and in a battle. It's easy to sing, dance or play because we can do that and for some people they have mastered it well but you can never be able to win the battle with self. Paul said that the things I desire to do, I do not do but that which I do not want I find myself doing it. The battle on the inside is a big one and we might try to think we have won it but we at times fall, crush and burn. David came up to God and he said in Psalm 121:7 KJV "The Lord shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul". David learnt that the whole bat

Opened Eyes To The Spirit Realm.

Being a worship leader isn’t about the voice alone, the team, the band and the killer reefs and turnarounds we make. I personally believe that there is so much more to worship leading or just being worshipper than what meets the eye.   A key place of our lives is in worship whether you are a singer, pastor, church member or even an usher. Worship doesn’t just happen in the physical but a lot of our lives are lived in the spiritual and even when we worship a lot of things happen that we do not see hence we don’t get to appreciate the importance of worship.  “ And Elisha prayed, and said, Lord, I pray thee, open his eyes, that he may see. And the Lord opened the eyes of the young man; and he saw: and, behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha ”. 2 Kings 6:17 KJV All Elisha did was to pray for his servant to see what He was seeing in the spiritual realm, I guess Gehazi was just all over the place worried sick of the impending danger

What is Worship?

Image
Whilst praise in an expression of admiration and appreciation, worship is an expression of love and adoration. It is possible to admire someone and appreciate what they do without loving them. Worship has to do with our love for the Lord that is, giving Him our whole heart and life. We express our feelings towards God. This is why the greatest commandment is “Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind” [Matthew 22:37]. The Bible commands us to worship God. Israel was to worship God as Lord and Him alone. “I am the Lord thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. Thou shalt have no other gods before me.Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth: Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the Lord thy God am a jealous

When Should We Praise God

Image
This Article was done by Taka Sande our Guest Blogger talking about Praise When Should We Praise God? ◈ At all times. “I will bless the Lord at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth” [Psalms 34:1]. ◈ In times of depression. “Why art thou cast down, O my soul? And why art thou disquieted within me? hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him, who is the health of my countenance, and my God” [Psalms 42:11] ◈ Among the people. “I will praise thee, O Lord, among the people: I will sing unto thee among the nations” [Psalms 57:9]. ◈ All day long. “From the rising of the sun unto the going down of the same the Lord's name is to be praised” [Psalms 113:3]. “Let my mouth be filled with thy praise and with thy honour all the day” [Psalms 71:8]. ◈ In everything. “Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ” [Eph 5:20]. What Hinders Us From Praising God? There are many reasons why Christians do not praise God. The

How Holiness Lost Its Place In Worship

Image
You know the Old Testament was cool but we don’t live there anymore we now live under the dispensation of grace, someone said as I talked about holiness and worship. You know Jesus died for our sins and what we are today is by his grace and I realized this kind of teaching has come with the same gospel of universal salvation. If you don’t know what that Is the gospel of universal salvation says everyone shall be saved at the end of the world including the devil himself will be saved because of God’s infinite grace. In their eyes holiness, sanctity, offering is of the Old Testament. How Holiness has lost in place in worship is because we have allowed some form of teaching which isn’t of God to fill and flood our lives and our families. Doctrines from within our churches but I don’t blame the church we should blame ourselves because we don’t know the word of God and what it says about who we are.   May we be like the Bereans who studied the word to weigh and understand Pa

Worship: Living In The Frontline Ministry

Image
In the army the frontline is where the battle is always raging and hot, In World War 1 & 2 they were battle areas where for days there was constant fighting and always planning how to advance against his enemy’s frontline. Being a part of the worship is like being in front line always fighting. One of my friends said that I can judge the depth of a church by the presentation and quality of their frontline ministry. A worship team, choir, musicians, dancers, banners, painters and mimes are all part of the frontline ministry. Mostly people rarely get to see your tongue but they can clearly see your teeth because they are in the front, just what a worship team is like. The battle is raging at all fronts on the altar/stage and hotter during the week, Worship and praise is like a plough that prepares the fallow ground, it ploughs through the hardship and uncertain times that men go through. Our battle is not a physical one but is a spiritual battle, the fight com
