Tehillah Worship

Personally I love one thing that I have been noticing in the body of Christ that people are starting to understand that worship isn’t just singing songs or playing music but that Worship is beyond lyrics. We then have a crop of people in the same space who don’t know what to do if they don’t have music or words, yes they know that worship is beyond that but then what else can they do. “For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's”. 1 Corinthians 6:20 John Wesley said this in response to this verse “Yield your bodies and all their members, as well as your souls and all their faculties, as instruments of righteousness to God. Devote and employ all ye have, and all ye are, entirely, unreservedly, and forever, to his glory.” Our bodies are meant to glorify God, outside words, lyrics and music our lives can minister glory, our bodies can bless the Lord through the way we live daily and the way we carry ourselves in...

One of the prayers that I have said over and over is, God teach me how to worship and teach me to live for you. One of the things that will become evident as you spend time and grow in the Lord is that you learn so many new things. As worshippers we should cry out and ask the Lord that he may teach us to worship but for many people it ends here because they have prayed. “Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded”. James 4:8 The brother of Jesus, James explains to us that as we draw near to the Lord, He will reciprocate because it’s his nature. God is not an unjust God. God desires that we come and search for Him in the process He orders our lives. How many of us run away from those friends of ours who always want something from us and they never reciprocate our gestures? If we run away from our friends then why do we treat God the same way ? God is calling us to a specific place where we shall live and abide, where we shall get to enjoy his promises and blessings and commanded blessings. So many times we are busy fighting over the way things should be done we are quarreling over the format and manner in which things should be done. At times we are at loggerheads because of content, genre, music instruments, day and time, we forget that it is God who should determine where we stand and who we become. At the other hand we are like the Israelites when they wanted o bring back the ark of the covenant form the hands of the philistine and there at the threshold when the ark stumbled and then Uzzah who was seated driving the ox drawn cart reached out to hold the ark from falling and God struck him dead right there at the spot. King David wasn’t chaffed and went all out at God, even me I was like God what wrong did Uzzah. Reading through a book I learnt that Philistine gods where always carried on a brand new ox drawn cart and Israel wanted to carry the same Philistine (worldly) model to answer a God problem or challenge. So the big question was why do I have to do it, they say raise your hand and bow down but I don’t think that matter you know. God is looking at my heart and he is not worried about what I do. So I thought of it and just searched about this presumption and this is what I found out.  The worship is not in the bowing but the worship is in the condition of the heart that the whole story here. God sees your worship in the attitude of bowing. In my culture bowing Is a sing to show respect to the elders, when you enter a courtroom you are supposed to bow and address the judge as your worship think about that, Asians bow as a sign of respect and they say the depth of your respect is seen in how low you bow. Universal cultures and traditions show us that when you bow you are showing respect and reverence of the person you are meeting or respect to the seat they occupy and then we come to Christ and we say that our worship is not in the bowing.  Hebrews are very expressive...

Arm Twist Worship and Worshipping for a breakthrough or worshipping without string attached out of love, no obligations. God knows all our desire before we even ask for them in prayer, even in fasting and I always says that it is better to come before the Lord and worship Him out of the abundance of your heart and not hold back. Arm Twist worship as I call it, is when we worship the Lord because we need deliverance, I worship the Lord big time when I need something to from Him. Those that live in an attitude of worship don’t even need to ask all they do is lift their hands, mouths and hearts and just declare the Lord and before they are done whatever they desired in their hearts that Lord would have fulfilled.
