Some Scripture References To Musical Instruments In The Bible

Playing an Instrument in worship means prophesying, worship and praising Him, warring in the Spirit, soothing the soul, activity or action that proceed from the heart, joy, praise,   prophesying, ministry of the gifts of the Spirit, admonishing, edifying. In David's time they where used specifically for temple worship and also used for specific events and celebrations and with time music was played during sacrifices and also at city gates but it was confined to Levites under the direction of its Musical Fathers like Asaph, Jeduthun Jubal is considered the Father of music when he created music instruments at the start of the bible. And his brother's name was Jubal: he was the father of all such as handle the harp and organ. Genesis 4:21 And Miriam the prophetess, the sister of Aaron, took a timbrel in her hand; and all the women went out after her with timbrels and with dances. Exodus 15:20 Wherefore didst thou flee away secretly, and steal away from me; a

Worship: Living In The Frontline Ministry

Image
In the army the frontline is where the battle is always raging and hot, In World War 1 & 2 they were battle areas where for days there was constant fighting and always planning how to advance against his enemy’s frontline. Being a part of the worship is like being in front line always fighting. One of my friends said that I can judge the depth of a church by the presentation and quality of their frontline ministry. A worship team, choir, musicians, dancers, banners, painters and mimes are all part of the frontline ministry. Mostly people rarely get to see your tongue but they can clearly see your teeth because they are in the front, just what a worship team is like. The battle is raging at all fronts on the altar/stage and hotter during the week, Worship and praise is like a plough that prepares the fallow ground, it ploughs through the hardship and uncertain times that men go through. Our battle is not a physical one but is a spiritual battle, the fight com

Shopping List Worship

Worship has evolved with time to mean a lot of things to a lot of different people. When you look in the bible you will realize that worship to them was the centre of their lives. Have you ever asked yourself what worship means to you, have you ever taken time to think about it and have you ever answered that’s question before? God is moved to show up in your life when you worship Him with everything and when He is the object of your worship. You can make any request once you are in his presence. Can’t we worship the Lord in a place where we say that God I know I am sick, I am penniless, I’m broken but I just want to bring my thanksgiving to you In spite of my situation I seek only you. Some will fight me on this but I believe that worship shouldn’t be about us but the centre of our worship should be God and we should take ourselves out of the equation and make sure that we glorify God for who He is and what He is worth. We make a shopping list to enter into his prese

Why Worship Wars Wont Work

Image
We are busy killing each other in the churches which type of worship or music should be the one that is acceptable and does it fit the right in to the doctrine of the church and the founding fathers of the ministry. I have realized that God receives all offering and sacrifices but what is important is does your sacrifice bring glory to God? Instead of us fighting and causing churches to split because we are not agreeing with everyone why can’t we not spend our time in asking the Lord the manner in which He wants us to worship him. We all cannot be like Hillsong, the huge Mississippi Mass Choir or Planet Shakers or Donnie Mclurkin but one thing that’s for sure is that we should strive to bring glory to the Lord. Remember what we want is not what God wants. “ This is the thing which the LORD commanded that ye should do: and the glory of the LORD shall appear unto you ”, Leviticus 9:6. It’s not about fighting which genre of music should accompany our worship but the focus of

Why We Shout For Joy or Offer A Joyful Noise..

Image
To utter a sudden and loud outcry, usually in joy, triumph or exultation, A loud burst of voice or voices Shout and Joyful Noise come from the same Hebrew root word which is “Rua” and it means to shout figuratively means to split the ears ( with sound) raise a sound or blow an alarm a cry out, give a blast Shouting or a Joyful Noise is not a timid whisper, I’m shouting in my heart. It’s an explosive joyful noise to God! It goes beyond a small voice or loud voice it’s actually loud for a reason. The meaning for a shout and also for a joyful noise are the same that I feel they can be used interchangeably. Shouting was used to mean singing aloud and also to express victory in the bible like when the walls of Jericho. Shouting is also used to express a sudden joy and happiness it was used alarm or danger and this was later replaced with a trumpets and warning drums. One other use it was used for was a cry for help to the Lord.   “When the ark of
