That Altar of Worship

Image
An altar is a place of sacrifice, a place where divinity met with man and it’s the place where God still meets mankind. Altars are not just an Old Testament thing but all of us have our place of sacrifice that’s our altar right there. We are not talking of the pulpit area in your church, the stage or the front where the choir sings from. An altar is not picked up on the floor like a coin which you have dropped and altar has to be built from scratch with the blueprint from God. Every time the patriarchs build an altar and sacrificed on that altar God responded and met them on the very same place. Yes we no longer kill animals these days but we have been made the temple of the most high “And let them make me a sanctuary; that I may dwell among them”. Exodus 25:8 KJV and then Hebrews 8:2 KJV says “…the true tabernacle, which the Lord pitched, and not man”. God desires that He, be a huge part of our lives and may we also reciprocate such a heart by the way we offer ourselves to him. Chri

Preparing For The Move Of God - Purity

Image
So many times we are so concerned and worried about how we sound and how we are being seen, the image of our lives, how PC (Politically Correct) we are. We are concerned about our image, how deep people think we are, what will people say after we leave the room or we lead worship on Sunday. We try our best to use the music, clothes, our voice to try and portray how deep and awesome we are in life. When you look back at the end of the day what is important is that have we stood in our place and allowed or facilitated God  to meet men and men to meet God. We want things to happen when we pray and when we lead worship, or when we do that solo or that special in church or at an outreach. Impact starts with us, individually as Worshippers and one of the things that causes us to see things happen in our lives is when we allow the word of a God to purify and clean us. Just like in Psalms 12: 6-7 which says "The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth,

Where Is The Power In a Worship Song?

Image
The songs we sing today, do we take time to think through them and do we take time to understand what they mean and the impact they have on our lives and future. Every song has an effect on the singer and to the one it’s been sung to. Watch what you sing and to who. To see if a song qualifies as a biblical and acceptable worship song to God let us look at 2 Chronicles 20:21 “ And when he had consulted with the people, he appointed singers unto the LORD, and that should praise the beauty of holiness, as they went out before the army, and to say, Praise the LORD; for his mercy endureth forever ”.   As they worshipped God that very morning 1.       Did their songs reflect worshipful hearts? And do the songs we sing today reflect our hearts or we just offer lip service just as the word states they speak but their hearts are far from me. Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks, the song rolling out of our mouth are they reflecting the conditions of our hearts

Shaking The Throne Room of God....

What moves God is worship. Look in the bible, looks at the stories written about the lives of the men of faith, their lives, their worship and sacrifices then God always responded to their worship. In today worship we now rate and measure God's response according to the number of goose bumps or chicken skin we feel when we are worshipping. What moves God is praise because it’s his very nature  What shakes the foundation of throne room is when men worship Him earnestly. We were created in the presence and likeness of God, every human being was created to worship because that is God’s very nature, Worship. Even Lucifer was created as a being of perfect worship hey say he oozed worship and that shows you that God is all about worship. His likeness is worship; He has no choice but to respond to worship any day any time. “ The LORD thy God in the midst of thee is mighty; he will save, he will rejoice over thee with joy; he will rest in his love, he will joy over th

Opened Eyes To The Spirit Realm.

Being a worship leader isn’t about the voice alone, the team, the band and the killer reefs and turnarounds we make. I personally believe that there is so much more to worship leading or just being worshipper than what meets the eye.   A key place of our lives is in worship whether you are a singer, pastor, church member or even an usher. Worship doesn’t just happen in the physical but a lot of our lives are lived in the spiritual and even when we worship a lot of things happen that we do not see hence we don’t get to appreciate the importance of worship.  “ And Elisha prayed, and said, Lord, I pray thee, open his eyes, that he may see. And the Lord opened the eyes of the young man; and he saw: and, behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha ”. 2 Kings 6:17 KJV All Elisha did was to pray for his servant to see what He was seeing in the spiritual realm, I guess Gehazi was just all over the place worried sick of the impending danger

Why God is Fussy About His Presence Part 2

Image
“But Jesus answered, "I assure you that the Son can do nothing alone. He does only what he sees his Father doing. The Son does the same things that the Father does”. John 5:19   Jesus declared these words to prove a point to the Jews of his place and his ministry and was trying to show them the source of his life. Jesus meant that all He did was exactly what he SAW literally seeing. How did Jesus see what the father was doing? Jesus spent time with the father alone in his presence. Do you?  Jesus chased after God, Jesus even though he was God sought after the Father. He would serve people the whole day and then pray all night as long as he could carry. Think about it… The question would be why the presence of God? He already receives perfect angelic worship, the earth, creation gives him worship why does he still ask me to worship when he is already having way better worship than my sinful life?  God asks us to dwell in his Presenc

Worship Beyond Words: Worship A Life of Obedience

Image
Obedience according to the Sage Dictionary is the act of obeying, dutiful or submissive with respect to someone else. It is a characteristic that we have to learn on our own, someone said God is always talking what He is looking for is just a willing life to listen and do. “And Samuel said, Hath the LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams”, 1Samuel 15:22 . God basically states that he is pleased by just listening and doing his bidding as and when He requires us. The principle of First Mention explains the word in question and the first time the word Worship was used in scriptures was in Genesis 22:15 “ And Abraham said unto his young men, Abide ye here with the ass; and I and the lad will go yonder and worship, and come again to you ” the word “worship” in this verse spoke of SACRIFICE and OBEDIENCE and not music or dancing or anythin

Worshipping Without Words and Music Part 2

Image
Worship goes beyond songs, words, notes, chords and instruments. Worship means to pay homage, falling before someone feet, glorifying a deity, honor paid to dignity , kind of reverence ascribing worth. Genesis 22:5 that was the first mention of the word Worship in the Bible, it denoted sacrifice and obedience. Worship in today’s ages and to some people means songs and music, that is 3 praise song and 3 worship songs if there are more than 6 songs at your church on Sunday then you are privileged. Some believe doing a bible study and fellowship for them that is the understanding that they have of worship. Worship is a lifestyle and way of life and today I am talking about worship with our works and we look at what the words says about, “ Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven ”, Matthew 5:16    “ But when the multitudes saw it, they marvelled, and glorified God, which had given such power unto

Worshipping Without Words and Music

Image
When one speaks about worship beyond just singing and music, people tend to squirm. The question I kept looking for in the word of God was “is there worship beyond singing and music”. Worship in the word of God is shown that it goes beyond words. Worship  isn't  an act but it so a lifestyle and a daily experience that one lives every day. Our lives are sometimes a mystery but the greatest gift we have been given is worship. Fruit is one way that we can worship without words and the bible declares it very clearly “By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name”. Hebrew 13:15. Our lips have fruit, our words have results. Our lips have produce that is attached to them when we speak. God says in Isaiah my words shall not come back to me void but shall complete everything that I have sent them to do. The words we speak today have fruit, in our mouth there is God ordained power to name and cre
