Preparing For A Move Of God: Part 2 - Power Over Sin

Image
As worshippers our desire and heart is to see the move of God, is to see people connect and fall in love with God. To see mankind basking in his presence and God touching people's hearts and he in turn dwelling on our praises. We shouldn't be driven by comments about how we did or played or how well we executed the new song more than being focused on hearing God and bringing people to his feet. It's easy to be in a crew, dance troupe, band or choir and hide away in it but when it comes to worship time before God you are standing alone before him alone. Not with anyone else but just alone. There is this one thing that you get to see happen when we take our time and invest in knowing the word of God and not just knowing the word but understanding its impact in our lives all around.   The manual we have says this, "Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you", John 15: 3. As we read the word of God it makes us clean by the washing that com

Why We Shout For Joy or Offer A Joyful Noise..

Image
To utter a sudden and loud outcry, usually in joy, triumph or exultation, A loud burst of voice or voices Shout and Joyful Noise come from the same Hebrew root word which is “Rua” and it means to shout figuratively means to split the ears ( with sound) raise a sound or blow an alarm a cry out, give a blast Shouting or a Joyful Noise is not a timid whisper, I’m shouting in my heart. It’s an explosive joyful noise to God! It goes beyond a small voice or loud voice it’s actually loud for a reason. The meaning for a shout and also for a joyful noise are the same that I feel they can be used interchangeably. Shouting was used to mean singing aloud and also to express victory in the bible like when the walls of Jericho. Shouting is also used to express a sudden joy and happiness it was used alarm or danger and this was later replaced with a trumpets and warning drums. One other use it was used for was a cry for help to the Lord.   “When the ark of

The Heart, the Mouth and the Worship

Image
So many times we are fighting a lot amongst ourselves what is the best genre or music loops to use for our denominations some call it worship wars. Today let’s look at our own inner and individual worship wars. The heart, the mouth and the worship The heart It’s difficult to say which is the best body part or organ but the heart takes the crown for me, it does unimaginable job. But the heart is the core of everything, it’s the core of Christianity and it’s the core of our worship.  The mouth Of all body parts the mouth is one of the most amazing body parts that we have been given. Like James says “ James 3:10 Out of the same mouth proceedeth blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not so to be ”. The mouth is the last first part of the creative process and God spoke the word and it was, our mouth declare what has and is to be.   What does this have to do with Worship ? Someone once said Worship is reminding God who says He says in his wor

The Ignorant Worshipper Part 1

Every king has glory and honour is honored in a big way, Prince Charles or the Queen of England are honored in a certain way and if that’s the case why don’t we honour do the same and when we worship God, we see him as a friend and we honor Him ignorantly but He is King and Lord, the Lord who is in charge of armies and hosts. We don’t even honour Him like the way we honour and respect the Queen of England.   “ And those servants went out into the highways, and gathered together all as many as they found, both bad and good: and the wedding was filled with guests. But when the king came in to behold the guests, he saw there a man who had not on a wedding-garment: and he saith unto him, Friend, how camest thou in hither not having a wedding-garment? And he was speechless. Then the king said to the servants, Bind him hand and foot, and cast him out into the outer darkness; there shall be the weeping and the gnashing of teeth ”. Matthew 22:10-13. Being an ignorant worshipper

The Place of the Word of God in Worship

Image
God uses his word within us to speak to us, God always builds on his word. The more the word of God you have in you, the more God speaks to you.   As you read and know the word, God builds you on the inside and speaks to you more and in the process this changes your personal walk with Him revolutionizing your worship. I have seen worship leaders who look like nothing on the exterior or those that don’t meet the profile and not vocally talented but when they sing heavens open for them. Why? " The entrance of thy words giveth light; it giveth understanding unto the simple" .   Psalms 119:130. If we can live in a place where our worship is based on his word then we walk and lead people in the light because the word of God leads and guides us. His word brings understanding to us and as worship leaders we have access to understanding because we know his word, “ to know his word is to know Him” . It’s not just about singing songs or leading people it’s about creat
