Worship is A Decision

Image
Worship and Salvation are decisions that one has to make, no one makes the decision for you or sign on your behalf, they are all about you and God. God is looking to connect with men and especially with you. Men were created for fellowship with God and fellowship with God is one on one. “Worship is an internal attitude and action that focuses on God”. Anonymous Tithe blesses you, fasting makes your spirit sensitive to the Holy Spirit, offering and alms are added to your account, prayer allows you to withdraw your blessing kept for you by God. Worship is one lifestyle that causes God to stop, call a time out in Heaven, spin on his seat and take time to meet with you. Every time God came on earth or walked on earth what he was looking for was communion and fellowship with men, He would walk in the garden just to have fellowship with Adam and Eve.  In Genesis 11 God came down looking for communion with men and he found men building the Tower of Babel. God’s heart is to i

The Place of Fear and Reverence in Worship

Image
The idea of worship is that one prostrates himself before a superior being with an attitude of awe, respect, honour and homage. It is amazing the things that can be unlocked just through reverence. “Let us worship with reverence and awe for our God is a consuming fire”. Hebrews 12:29 Reverence means to show respect or fear, a common way in Israel to show reverence was “falling down,” “lying on the ground facedown” as prostration of the body showing that the one you bow to is superior to you. Fear is a regard with feelings of respect and reverence or considering hallowed or exalted or be in awe of and the word simply states that “ The fear of the LORD is to hate evil” Proverbs 8:13 . Fear of the Lord is living a life which not only hates but is free of sin. God is God and we are to worship God with our hearts and our spirits full and overflowing with the fear of the Lord. God is friend and a Father but when we come to worship shall we still worship Him as friend or

The Mistaken Myth Truth About Surrender!

Image
Worship is all about surrender, giving clearance for a higher authority to take over your life, surrendering our lives, jobs, family and our destinies to the power of God. That worship. Surrender according to dictionary means: Give up possession of something: to relinquish possession or control of something because of coercion or force, surrender territory, surrender your passport Declare yourself defeated: to declare to an opponent that he or she has won so that fighting or conflict can cease These are the world views on surrender and according to the Microsoft dictionary states that surrender is when we relieve ourselves the right to rule our lives and we give that right to God. Relinquishing the power that we have and giving it to God, that’s what worship is all about. It’s not just an action that you can do but it’s a lifestyle lived not a once off act, it’s not just lifting your hands or singing a surrender song. It is setting your life to have

Worship, Unforgiveness and Sin. The Challenge!

Image
“Who shall ascend into the hill of the LORD? or who shall stand in his holy place, He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart; who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully”, Psalms 24:3  Worship is the vehicle that is at the centre of God and it should be at the centre of our lives also. God doesn't want men standing before Him and worshipping Him but carrying unforgiven sin and unforgiveness full in our lives. The bible tells us that God hates the sin in man, God doesn't hate the men and when we touch God with our worship He inturns touches us with love as well but if we are to exalt him the bible tells us to do it with clean hands and a pure heart. rdpress.com The bible speaks of a man who comes to sacrifice and realises that he wronged his brother and Jesus says leave your offering by the altar, go back and reconcile with your brother. God doesn't want man to stand and sacrifice to Him with sin and unforgiveness in our lives.

Prepared to Worship

Image
Always ask yourself am I prepared to Worship God anytime, anyplace, anywhere? When we worship our minds think about God, we offer ourselves to Him our emotions and we open our hearts with our bodies expressing to all this by actions. Which means that worship is not just a mouth but it’s about your spirit, soul and body all focused to lift up his name. If you check yourself and see that you are missing one part then there is something you need to work on. When you are a part of the worship given to God then we have to get prepared for this work all time. Israel was always told in advance to get prepared to the appearance or manifestation of God on the mountain. Their preparation in Exodus 19:10, 14-15 wasn’t just a spiritual act but it was physical act. Israel had 3 big festivals (f east of unleavened bread, the feast of weeks and the feast of tabernacles ) every year which they conducted and honoured of which worship was the central part of it. Worship in Israel wa

Who or What Directs Worship?

Image
The question, Who or what Directs Worship Ever thought of it, Is it the metronome, the beat, kick drum, the singer, the choir  If not then what drives worship  Worship is not about you and your needs, it isn’t about how we feel or have an idea about but it should be a place where God is lifted up the way he wants. Worship was set by God to be a place where we commune with God, enjoy his presence and also to become more like God because when we spent more time in his presence we become more like Him.     “Most of the times we choose the way we want to worship God”. “The key to worshipping God is the God you worship” Pst Bonnie Deushcle “The ways and means of worship depends merely on God’s sovereign pleasure and institution”. Worship should be a way which God’s will is done through your life, it’s not for us worshippers to dictate worship, how it is given and all the other details. We have built worship to match our taste, likes and the way we want to worshi

Worshipping With Jesus

Image
Our lives and worship should be offered though Jesus Christ, He just like the Holy Spirit know how to get into the presence of God and stand with our offering before the father. In our worship let it start from our hearts, with the help of the Holy Spirit through Jesus then will our worship be acceptable before God. “Worship is sealed and concretized by the blood of Jesus” “The worship of God through Jesus Christ lies at the heart of all Christian expressions” Jesus in the Lion of the Tribe of Judah in Hebrew language “Y” and “J” are the same so the root word for Judah is “Yadah”. Yadah is a Greek word which is translated Praise so Jesus is the Lion of the tribe of Praise. Christ is worthy to be praised. So far its theological our heads are spinning now lets turn to what the word say about our worship and Christ.  “For we are the circumcision who worship God in the spirit and rejoice in Christ Jesus” Philippians 3:3 “By Him, then, let us offer the sacrifice of pr

Worship In Truth

Image
Worship In Truth   Truth in the bible has been translated to cover this words firmness, stability, constancy and also faithfulness, honesty, justice and also uprightness “Truth also means being honest with God”. Jesus said the only truth was to be found in God’s word for it is this word that is true. The greatest worshipper on earth is the one who understands and has communion with the word of God. You can’t worship someone you don’t know and the best way to know God is to read and commune with His word. “O send out thy light and thy truth: let them lead me; let them bring me unto thy holy hill, and to thy tabernacles.   Then will I go unto the altar of God, unto God my exceeding joy yea, upon the harp will I praise thee, O God my God Psalms 43:3-4 “Sanctify them in truth, thy Word is truth”, John 17:17. Know who He is and worship Him with revelation,  scripture wonderfully directs and enriches our worship.  Our worship should be directed and guided by the wo

Worshipping From The Heart....

Image
Courtesy : www. topnews.in How We Worship Reason 1 There are so many reason how we worship and I have realised that there are so many of them but if all of our worship isn't based from the heart we are busy self entertaining.  Our bodies are the temples of the Holy Spirit and our hearts are the altars of sacrifice. The worship of God starts from the heart. God is not moved by the expressions we do in worship but the heart that is behind the expression just as one man said “true worship is felt inwardly and expressed through actions and expressions. God desires that worship flow from a broken, clean, contrite, open, pure heart has is bent on worshipping God alone. “Worship without the heart becomes stage play” “Rather let your heart be without words than for your words o be without a heart” Matt Redman “Worship is an occupation of the hearts with God Himself not its own needs”. Jesus spoke of the Samaritan woman that it was not place of worship that

What Worship Is All About

Image
Worship is the central part of God and heaven but is the most misunderstood part of human life. Someone once wrote if it’s a pattern of heaven then we should emulate it in our lives but when we look around creation in worshipping but man is walking with worship of self or desire to worship God but do not know why. www.cyberbrethren.com Worship isn’t just an idea, a person, or a thing it is a lifestyle that God has called us to leave. Genesis 1 speaks about the mandate of man multiply, subdue and fill the earth, I’m very curious person God wouldn’t just create us to make children, rule earth and then he has heaven full of multiplies angels, subduing all the three heaven and filling the galaxy and centering everything around worship. Kingdom of God resembles all these mandate of man but they are wrapped around worship, we have received the mandate but we didn’t receive the core of the mandate, Worship “O Lord, open thou my lips; and my mouth shall shew forth thy praise

What is Prophetic Worship?

What is Prophetic Worship? This article was taken from www.janemorin.com with permission. 1 Corinthians 12:28  And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues. I’ve been asked this many times by people who do not understand prophetic worship, and by others how they can develop it in their lives.   Prophetic worship is simply to sing, speak or act under the influence of the Holy Spirit.  When one does such, it allows the character of God to come to light in us, and thus draws others to Him.   The fruit of such moments will reveal whether the Word that came forth is of the flesh or of the Spirit, meaning that is was divinely inspired. This is not something that is meant only for the charismatic churches; (though this gift has more freedom to produce fruit in that environment) it is intended for the entire Body of Christ.  By the way, I

Where Does Worship Emanates and Flows From?

Image
Worship Is First Of All Obedience Worship is honouring and magnifying God, it’s not confined to singing and dancing but its worshipping him in everything we do night and day. It’s a lifestyle that is lived not for self but for God. It’s a daily experience, the bible says the fruit of my lips should praise God; my life should worship without words and notes. Genesis 22:5 The principal of first   mention in the bible carries a lot of weight and in this passage of scripture w find that Abraham said to his man wait here. The passage of scripture speaks of obedience and sacrifice. Abraham didn’t have any music but he worshipped the Lord, he did not have dancers or anything else except wood, fire and his son as a sacrifice. Worship to Abraham, Noah, Jacob, Job, Isaac, Abel and Cain and all who lived before the time of Exodus wasn’t glitz and glamour, microphones, canvas, instruments, preaching bible reading or teaching to them worship was obedience and was expressed through s

How Do You Worship With Reverence!

Image
Reverence comes from a primitive root which means to fear; causatively to frighten: affright, be (make) afraid, dreadful fear, tremble. The dictionary will tell us that fear is deep respect, if that’s the case then what does reverence mean. I believe that fear doesn’t bring us escape from God but bring us closer. www.faithclipart.com If you would read the Amplified Bible you will realize that they replaced the word fear with reverence. There is power when we come before God with our hearts and minds carrying an attitude of reverence, not being afraid of Him or dreadful but giving him that deep respect and honour that he deserves. As a worshipper, when the revelation of reverence hits you don’t lead people in worship when you know that you are living in sin or you are dry.  The sons of Aaron, Nadab and Abihu died as they offered strange fires before the altar of God; if they had reverence they wouldn’t have offered such fires. Reading the bible you will realize that fe
