Preparing For A Move Of God: Part 3 The Power of Life

Image
We are living in era and season when men are just existing, there is so much coming against him especially the life of the Christian on a daily basis and that’s the reason why He is crushed beyond words. People walk into church services, conferences and concerts the still leave the same but we claim that Christ offers solutions. When you hear people such they are giving up on God, as Worshippers we have missed a huge part of our purpose and reason for existence. We are carriers of the ark of the covenant (glory of God) and we have stashed it somewhere away from the church to experience the presence of God because we ourselves have become dull and lifeless. If we are going to see a move of God coming through our time and generation then the we need to move to a place where a scripture like John 6:63 speaks of "It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life". If we believe such passages of sc

Preparing For The Move Of God - Purity

Image
So many times we are so concerned and worried about how we sound and how we are being seen, the image of our lives, how PC (Politically Correct) we are. We are concerned about our image, how deep people think we are, what will people say after we leave the room or we lead worship on Sunday. We try our best to use the music, clothes, our voice to try and portray how deep and awesome we are in life. When you look back at the end of the day what is important is that have we stood in our place and allowed or facilitated God  to meet men and men to meet God. We want things to happen when we pray and when we lead worship, or when we do that solo or that special in church or at an outreach. Impact starts with us, individually as Worshippers and one of the things that causes us to see things happen in our lives is when we allow the word of a God to purify and clean us. Just like in Psalms 12: 6-7 which says "The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth,

Where Is The Power In a Worship Song?

Image
The songs we sing today, do we take time to think through them and do we take time to understand what they mean and the impact they have on our lives and future. Every song has an effect on the singer and to the one it’s been sung to. Watch what you sing and to who. To see if a song qualifies as a biblical and acceptable worship song to God let us look at 2 Chronicles 20:21 “ And when he had consulted with the people, he appointed singers unto the LORD, and that should praise the beauty of holiness, as they went out before the army, and to say, Praise the LORD; for his mercy endureth forever ”.   As they worshipped God that very morning 1.       Did their songs reflect worshipful hearts? And do the songs we sing today reflect our hearts or we just offer lip service just as the word states they speak but their hearts are far from me. Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks, the song rolling out of our mouth are they reflecting the conditions of our hearts

Dont Despise Your Past

Image
It’s All In The Past...  Basically modern day worship is what it today because of one man, Kind David. The man whom God considers to be a man after his heart but the very same man was a sinner on a grand level, God looked past that and still loved him.  David was Was born out of wedlock - David wasn't a legitimate child because he wasn't recognized as son by his father Jesse No kingly right - David had no right to the throne he wasn't Jonathan brother or even any Saul's sons. He had no right to be king whatsoever or any birthright No Levitical or priestly background or training. A Shepherd boy - the son of Jesse was a Shepherd and used to start far away from home tending sheep which weren't many.   His brothers say to him “whom have you left with those few sheep” A Cast away from family - his family had no regard for him and they looked down upon him. David slew Goliath, he won battles, became King, won more battles and he organized Israel

Convenient Worship: Life of a Present Day Worshipper

Image
Hosea 4:13 (KJV) They sacrifice upon the tops of the mountains, and burn incense upon the hills, under oaks and poplars and elms, because the shadow thereof is good: therefore your daughters shall commit whoredom, and your spouses shall commit adultery. Israel dumped their temple of Yawheh and also Baal shrines and created new ones on the  roof tops of their houses and under trees because they wanted shade. 1. Israel became professional idolators as they mixed with Canaan, they became good at being religious and killing sacrifices just because they wanted a braai.  We have turned to being professional in all we do (its a good thing being pro but not at the expense of God) but are we worshipping professionalism more than the One we meant to serve. 2. They changed their focus of worship for convenience sake. Does that sound like someone you know. Do we worship because it convenient, so i get to be recognized and noticed, or if I don't go to church today and sing for them c

Scripture References to Dancing in The Bible

Dancing In The Bible  Dancing in Worship means spiritual sacrifice, joy, rejoice, idolatry, victory, return of a son. (Psalms 30: 11; 149: 3; 1 Samuel 18: 6, 7; Ex. 32: 19; Luke 15: 21-25; Matthew 11: 16-17; 14: 6; Judges 11: 34; Lamentations. 5: 15)   Dance is associated with joy and its opposite is mourning Lamentations 5:15 The joy of our heart is ceased; our dance is turned into mourning. “Let them praise his name in the dance: let them sing praises unto him with the timbrel and harp”. Psalms 149:3     “And David danced before the LORD with all his might; and David was girded with a linen ephod”. 2Samuel 6:14 “And it came to pass as they came, when David was returned from the slaughter of the Philistine, that the women came out of all cities of Israel, singing and dancing, to meet king Saul, with tabrets, with joy, and with instruments of musick”. 1 Samuel 18:6 “And David said unto Michal, It was before the LORD, which chose me before thy father, an

The Move & Flow Of The Holy Spirit

Image
How is it that we are missing to see the Holy Spirit but on a hot and sunny summer day you can locate even a small cloud that’s miles away even at night we can see a small fire at the top of the mountain we can recognise that fire from kilometres away. So why can we not recognise the Holy Spirit when he moves if he is as big as a cloud and if he is like a fire in night. In their forty years in the wilderness the children of Israel didn’t have a say in the manner in place or position of where the tabernacle was to be placed. And the LORD went before them by day in a pillar of a cloud, to lead them the way; and by night in a pillar of fire, to give them light; to go by day and night: Exodus 13:21   So when the pillar of cloud or pillar of fire moved The Levites and Priest would go a three days journey ahead of the camp to set up the tabernacle onto the place where the pillar would stop. How many of us in our worship follow the Holy Spirit where He is going and what He wan
