Preparing For The Move Of God - Purity

Image
So many times we are so concerned and worried about how we sound and how we are being seen, the image of our lives, how PC (Politically Correct) we are. We are concerned about our image, how deep people think we are, what will people say after we leave the room or we lead worship on Sunday. We try our best to use the music, clothes, our voice to try and portray how deep and awesome we are in life. When you look back at the end of the day what is important is that have we stood in our place and allowed or facilitated God  to meet men and men to meet God. We want things to happen when we pray and when we lead worship, or when we do that solo or that special in church or at an outreach. Impact starts with us, individually as Worshippers and one of the things that causes us to see things happen in our lives is when we allow the word of a God to purify and clean us. Just like in Psalms 12: 6-7 which says "The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth,

Entering His Presence

Image
A few weeks ago, we had a bible with my family and we were talking about the presence of God and Psalm 100:4 came to the fold of this debate and this question was asked, "since we are people of the New Testament and also we are in an era of the Holy Spirit. Do we enter into his presence or we live in his presence?     " Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name " Psalm 100:4 KJV In church you will have worship leaders saying “Let Us Enter God Presence”. As a church and as worship leaders do we understand what we say or have we become so accustomed to a notion and understanding which we are not even sure of. 1.       If you say you enter in, it also means you will leave. So if we say that we enter in it means that at the end we will leave or exit the presence of God. As worshippers we don't enter & leave afterwards or do we live in his presence. 2.       Matthew 18:

Flowing with the Holy Spirit in Worship

Image
Worship leading is a huge and amazing respons ibility in life and I pray that we do it with all our heart, mind and life. Our mandate as worship leaders is to carry people to the throne, bringing people   to that place where they meet with God face to face. Every person has a certain way that there live their life, that’s kinda the idea of what flow is all about. Every person has a way they lead no matter how many people in a worship team or choir we all can’t do what our neighbor can do. So as a worshipper you have a certain flow, a certain way that you consciously or subconsciously worship in.  Flow is also the way we move from one song to the next, how you move people from praise into worship, how you lead people from prayer to song. All those traits are part of flow.  The first thing I was taught when I became a part of the choir was “you cannot lead people to a place that you have never been”.   Driving people into an area you have never been yourself is di

The Worship Musician’s Guide to Flowing In the Spirit On Your Instrument

This is a post by David Santistevan. taken from http://www.davidsantistevan.com/flowing-in-the-spirit/ The idea of flowing in the Spirit can be a turn-off to many. We’ve seen enough crazies to know we don’t want to be “that guy.” The problem is that worship isn’t simply a performance of worship songs. It’s participation in the living, ever-present, life-changing presence of God. Yea, that changes things. Want to know the truth? God is moving every service. He is calling, drawing, awakening, and saving all the time. But if you’re unaware as a worship team musician, you can distract rather than contribute. Why Flow? The value of “flowing in the Spirit” is based on the truth that God is in the room. This isn’t just songs. This isn’t just fellowship. This isn’t just preaching. This is encounter. And as a worship team, we need to be ready to go where God is taking people. He is the true worship leader and we work together to see His Kingdom come and His will done in our

Worship In Truth

Worship In Truth   Truth in the bible has been translated to cover this words firmness, stability, constancy and also faithfulness, honesty, justice and also uprightness “Truth also means being honest with God”. Jesus said the only truth was to be found in God’s word for it is this word that is true. The greatest worshipper on earth is the one who understands and has communion with the word of God. You can’t worship someone you don’t know and the best way to know God is to read and commune with His word. “O send out thy light and thy truth: let them lead me; let them bring me unto thy holy hill, and to thy tabernacles.   Then will I go unto the altar of God, unto God my exceeding joy yea, upon the harp will I praise thee, O God my God Psalms 43:3-4 “Sanctify them in truth, thy Word is truth”, John 17:17. Know who He is and worship Him with revelation,  scripture wonderfully directs and enriches our worship.  Our worship should be directed and guided by the wo
