Power of the Name of Jesus


Happy 2012, I believe that this year is my year and your year where GOD will be lifted up daily within us 24/7 throughout and this year we start with the Name of the Lord


A name represents the character of the person, God’s name declares much about person but the Bible reveals God and his name. In today’s world names carry little weight as people carry nicknames, alias’s stage names and all but in the biblical time your name meant a lot of who you are and the destiny you carried, that’s why God had to change the names of some people so that he could work on them.

The International Bible Encyclopedia explains that A “name” is that by which a person, place or thing is marked and known. In Scripture, names were generally descriptive of the person, of his position, of some circumstance affecting him, hope entertained concerning him, etc., so that “the name” often came to stand for the person

The name of the Lord signifies authority and power and his holy character and in the bible God did wait to be named by creation but He told creation who He was, “And the LORD descended in the cloud, and stood with him there, and proclaimed the name of the LORD”, Exodus 34:5 And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM Exodus 3:14.

The name and names of God reveal the character of who he is, if I say God one thinks of love, one thinks redemption, one thinks of power, one thinks of spirit and these are all his character and attributes. So

“And he turned back, and looked on them, and cursed them in the name of the LORD. And there came forth two she bears out of the wood, and tare forty and two children of them” 2Kings 2:24

“And David said to Solomon, My son, as for me, it was in my mind to build a house unto the name of the LORD my God”.

“Behold, your house is left unto you desolate: and verily I say unto you, Ye shall not see me, until the time come when ye shall say, Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord”, Luke 13:35

“And he that blasphemeth the name of the LORD, he shall surely be put to death, and all the congregation shall certainly stone him: as well the stranger, as he that is born in the land, when he blasphemeth the name of the LORD, shall be put to death”, Lev 24:16

  2. Is a strong tower Psalms 128:4 Proverbs 18:10
  3. Deliverance Psalms 116:4
  4. Destruction to enemies Ps 118:12
  5. Blessing Psalms 129:8
  6. Is a Fire  Isaiah 30:27
  7. Saves Act 22:16, Act 19:5, Act2:21
  1. Cleanses 1Co 6:11
  2. Sanctification 1Co 1:2
  3. All Authority Philippians 2:10

This is a short summary of what the Name of the Lord can do so as a body of Christ this year let it be our year of coming before the Lord not wanting to know the Name the Lord but ask to experience the Name of the Lord. There is something that would happen when the nations, kingdoms, cities such as Nineveh (heathens) and the patriarchs in the bible set their hearts to call upon the Name of the Lord. There is something about the Name of Jesus

This 2012 is a great year and when we do that which we do and build the Kingdom let us do it all in the Name of the Lord because everything starts and ends with Him and the day we realize that the day our lives change

Characteristics Of A Worshipper

Being a child of God and being called a Christian qualifies a person to be a worshipper, whether you have a sweet voice or a horsey voice, whether you can dance or you have CRD (Caucasian Rhythm Disorder) in God’s books you qualify as a worshipper. The name of a person reveals their character and the quality of worship reveals the character of a worshipper . Just like the names of God reveal his character and a worshipper is known his or her character.
