Is Your Worship Worth It?

Image
Is your worship worth it, if it doesn’t mean anything to you then it will not mean anything to God? Is it worth it… Worship in the Old Testament was confined to the tabernacle and also to the temple of Solomon. When you look at the bible from Adam until Moses you will see that they were worshippers even without the tabernacle. The principle of first mention of the word worship in the bile is based in Genesis 5:22 where Abraham spoke of sacrifice and obedience as worship. ‘”And Abraham said unto his young men, Abide ye here with the ass; and I and the lad will go yonder and worship, and come again to you”, Genesis 22:5 Abraham, Cain, Abel, Noah, Job, Isaac and all the other patriarchs in Genesis offered sacrifices when there was no temple or tabernacle. They would construct an altar which was made of 12 rough and uncut stones which represented the 12 tribes of Israel and sacrifice on top of the altar It was not found in the quantity of the sacrifice but in the gra

So Who Then Directs Worship ?

Who directs the worship that happens in a church, congregation, meeting or nay gathering that people have to seek the face of the Lord is it the pastor, the deacons, the board or the worship leader. This is the biggest question that has and is still causing church infighting, splits and has caused churches in the past to split and it is such a delicate matter that we need divine guidance to work on it. The devil is set to destroy the institution of the church and if he can distort your worship He would have won that battle. The first and most important thing about worship in a corporate setting is that if SUBMISSION is absent things will fall into chaos and cause dissension. If we don’t submit to each other, leader to leader, singers to pastors, deacons to church boards and then to Christ and to the Holy Spirit we are headed for disaster. Wherever the Spirit of God is there is order and not chaos and whenever everyone is in alignment, the Holy Spirit easily directs the wo

What Brings God’s Attention in Worship

What brings God’s attention to your worship that is the question? One of the answers would be your response determines the responses of your worship. Another question would be how? Let us then read the word the word of God to see why it is so. On a personal level how do you respond to God when he speaks? Gideon had a life changing encounters of meeting the Lord several times within a day. Gideon story most people know it, hiding in a wine press because of fear and an Angel of the Lord spoke to Gideon and in response to meeting the Angel of God, Gideon offers a freewill offering not asked for but knew that a visitation entails response. God came into the picture as he was pleased with the response of worship that Gideon honoured him with when He met the Angel, so many times God sends us these small things and we fail in our response. When God spoke again that very night Gideon built another altar again and called it Jehovah Shalom and sacrificed to God again his second offering, just b

A Worshipper That Moved Heaven and Hell Into Action

Mary was a sister to Martha and Lazarus, living in the town of Bethany.  A town  that was about 3km or 2miles from Jerusalem and was situate on the road to Jericho. They were a family of substance (averagely rich) and were well known in the town and the bible states that Jesus loved the Lazarus and his sisters. Jesus in the book of Matthew 26:13 said “Verily I say unto you, wheresoever this gospel shall be preached in the whole world, there shall also this, that this woman hath done, be told for a memorial of her”.  After reading this verse I became anxious to know what kind of woman would cause Jesus to say such words in front of a group of people and disciples and at the same time sealing his future. Mary’s life was that of a worshipper, all the scriptures where she is mentioned show forth the kind of life Mary had. The first mention of Mary and Martha, her sister was when Jesus was at their house Martha was serving food whilst “ her sister called Mary, which also sat
