What Brings God’s Attention in Worship
What brings God’s attention to your worship that is the question? One of the answers would be your response determines the responses of your worship. Another question would be how? Let us then read the word the word of God to see why it is so.
On a personal level how do you respond to God when he speaks? Gideon had a life changing encounters of meeting the Lord several times within a day. Gideon story most people know it, hiding in a wine press because of fear and an Angel of the Lord spoke to Gideon and in response to meeting the Angel of God, Gideon offers a freewill offering not asked for but knew that a visitation entails response.
God came into the picture as he was pleased with the response of worship that Gideon honoured him with when He met the Angel, so many times God sends us these small things and we fail in our response. When God spoke again that very night Gideon built another altar again and called it Jehovah Shalom and sacrificed to God again his second offering, just because God spoke. Again God’s response was to give a fearful man that had been changed a couple of hours before an assignment to destroy Baal and Asherah overnight and use their tools to build and altar and give his third offering in a day.
Gideon’s response to God made his worship deep and communed with God in a mighty way only because he knew how to respond. Gideon was changed overnight and his story never remained the same afterwards. What your story going to be like?
Numbers 20:6-7 “And Moses and Aaron went from the presence of the assembly unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, and they fell upon their faces: and the glory of the LORD appeared unto them. And the LORD spake unto Moses”
Moses and Aaron’s response to the words of the people was to go in before the Lord with their faces to the ground. They could have done so many things in response to what the people where complained about not having water, most times we are quick to do something especially if it’s me. Moses and Aaron response was worshipping God and then God responded quick to their plight. It’s your response that will promote his response and it all has a bearing on your worship.
In 2 Samuel 7:1-29 we meet David desiring to build a temple for God because he felt awkward staying in the house and the presence of God staying in curtains. So he tells his man of God prophet Nathan about his desire and God came to Prophet Nathan the same night.
The day that David told Prophet Nathan his plan to build his temple, God showed up in Nathan the same night and told Prophet Nathan that the temple should be built by Solomon but for the heart he had God was to establish the kingship for the house of David. Armed with such words from the lord I believe that Prophet Nathan quickly brought the word of the Lord to King David as soon as he could the next day or so.
What moves me is the response that David gave to the word of God that came with and he said, Who am I, O Lord GOD? and what is my house, that thou hast brought me hitherto? 2 Samuel 7:18
David response to the word of God was worship, what is your response whether the word of God has been spoken or not. As we lead many people to the Lord may our hearts be conditioned to know how God moves and may our reflex action to the move of God be to perpetuate his move always.
Paul and Silas in Acts 16 thrown into a dungeon and chained by fetters started to worship God on top of their voices, loudly that it was heard. Truth is when we respond to God, He inturn responds in our lives in a unique manner. An earthquake big enough was able to open all iron gates and crack foundations of a cell and still powerful enough to keep all vagabonds from running and absconding jail.
God responses quickly to our lives look always in the Bible God always responded to anyone who set his heart to look to God. I pray that whatever place you are be able to respond to God, that our lives learn to respond to God just like a reflex muscle and that we become worshippers who perpetuate the move of God upon his people.
“Give unto the LORD the glory due unto his name; Worship The LORD In The Beauty Of Holiness”, Psalms 29:2
