Why God Is Fussy About His Presence

From www.ilovejccafe.com
So many times we wonder why God is always asking us to Worship Him when He is always receiving perfect worship in heaven. David always made mention and desired to be in the presence of the Lord but then come to think of it. Why the presence of the Lord, why do I have to take time to chase after the presence of the Lord?

Someone sent me this scripture a couple of days ago and I was amazed by it and what it stands for.

“And they commanded the people, saying, When ye see the ark of the covenant of the LORD your God, and the priests the Levites bearing it, then ye shall remove from your place, and go after it.  Yet there shall be a space between you and it, about two thousand cubits by measure: come not near unto it that ye may know the way by which ye must go: for ye have not passed this way heretofore Joshua 3:3-4

So many times as Christians we are happy just having the presence of God in our lives, feeling Him, hearing him, goose bumps, chicken skin and electrical surges from the top of our heads to the crown of our feet. It’s an awesome experience and yet we have missed the real essence of the presence of God.

The Ark of the Covenant is a representation of the presence of God, it was in the Holy of Holies where the presence of the Lord was housed. The Ark was the representation of the Holy of Holies; it was a physical representation of the word of God over Israel.

In this scripture the Lord declares that when you see the ark of covenant and the priest who bear it start moving pack your bags and leave follow it. How many times have we been happy alone just to do have the goose bump experience and the electric charge flow that we missed the leading of the Lord?

God explains to Israel that the reason the Ark went before them was that it shows them “the way by which ye must go: for ye have not passed this way heretofore”.

The ark was the first to cross through the Jordan and the waters parted by the mere fact that the feet of the priests who touched the banks of the river. To show us the way to Him alone, God doesn’t want us to feel his presence God wants to guide us to him through his presence. God is looking for us to spend time with him and he knows that if we allow the Holy Spirit to lead us it will lead us to the Secret Place where he wants to show us and reveal to us himself.

Don’t be satisfied with the physical manifestation of his presence, seek to be lead to where God is, to the secret place.
