Entering His Presence
A few weeks
ago, we had a bible with my family and we were talking about the presence of
God and Psalm 100:4 came to the fold of this debate and this question was asked,
"since we are people of the New Testament and also we are in an era of the Holy
Spirit. Do we enter
into his presence or we live in his presence?
"Enter
into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful
unto him, and bless his name" Psalm 100:4 KJV
In church
you will have worship leaders saying “Let Us Enter God Presence”. As a church
and as worship leaders do we understand what we say or have we become so
accustomed to a notion and understanding which we are not even sure of.
1.
If
you say you enter in, it also means you will leave. So if we
say that we enter in it means that at the end we will leave or exit the
presence of God. As worshippers we don't enter & leave afterwards or do we live
in his presence.
2.
Matthew
18:20 KJV says "For where two or three are gathered together
in my name, there am I in the midst them". So the fact that we
together for a purpose it means that God's presence is amongst us. So if this
is the case do we still enter into his presence?
3.
Jesus
tore the veil so that that the Holy Spirit can be resident in our lives daily,
Jesus died on the cross so He could send Himself and also live on the
inside of us through the Holy Spirit, so when we say let us enter into his
presence what do we mean if He is abiding inside of us?
This has
become the center of the whole ideology that we enter into his presence but
with my little understanding Jesus died so that his presence can be accessible
to all men. His presence is everywhere but it's not accessible to anyone and to
everyone, God hides himself so that true kings and queens may find him in the
secret place.
So think of
this now, we know and understand his presence that we already live in his presence
but what I think we need to do is learn to acknowledge His presence always. We don't need to enter, we
are already in his presence but we need to acknowledge his presence amongst us.
But now that
we are in his courts what's next?
We been have
been taught how to be in his presence but we need to learn how to STAY in the presence since we have been taught to walk in, we need to learn to how to stay in his presence. Take a moment and ask
yourself this question.
Do I know how to stay in the presence of God?
Do I know
how to conduct myself presence?
