Worship is one gift given to mankind that allows him to connect up with the divine presence of God, Worship allows us access to Him and his presence. Most people want to focus on what worship is and isn’t, today our focus is to look at the types of worship. Worship comes in so many forms and we not looking at which one is correct but we are looking at the various types 1. Vain worship “ But in vain do they worship me, teaching as their doctrines the precepts of men ”. Mark 7:7. Vain according to the Oxford Dictionary says use someone’s name in a way that shows a lack of respect for example “ take someone's name in vain ”. It’s easy to come to a place where we no longer reverence or honour the name of God and we do all we do professing that we are worshipping God and we don’t even have any idea of what we are doing. It’s easy to worship God and not mean it, your heart and mind are not in it but your body is presen...
An altar is a place of sacrifice, a place where divinity met with man and it’s the place where God still meets mankind. Altars are not just an Old Testament thing but all of us have our place of sacrifice that’s our altar right there. We are not talking of the pulpit area in your church, the stage or the front where the choir sings from. An altar is not picked up on the floor like a coin which you have dropped and altar has to be built from scratch with the blueprint from God. Every time the patriarchs build an altar and sacrificed on that altar God responded and met them on the very same place. Exodus 25:8 KJV and then Hebrews 8:2 KJV says “…the true tabernacle, which the Lord pitched, and not man”. God desires that He, be a huge part of our lives and may we also reciprocate such a heart by the way we offer ourselves to him. Chri...
Some people have attacked me saying we are not supposed to dance, clap lift our hands and bowing is meant for prayer not worship and also other expressions that people use when they worship. I have written this article and I pray that they might understand the power of the lifting hands and its effect. “I will, therefore that men pray everywhere, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting” 1Timothy 2:8 Our hands reading from 1Timothy the Apostle Paul accords that our hands are holy, holy means that they are sacred, sanctified and set apart this is the basic dictionary meaning of holy. Is there power in lifting up holy hands to a Holy God? Think about it. God’s holiness confounds evil and so when we lift up our hands we are coming against evil in all its work against us. The power is released when we lifting up holy hands. “He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart; who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully” Psalms 24:4. David spoke that our...
