Worship and Spiritual Warfare


Good Day Worshippers

Spiritual warfare does not take place when we give or pray but also occurs when we worship God and lift him up,. Whenever God descends or visits he comes with all glory, power, splendour, majesty and holiness. Reading the book of Isaiah 6:1 and Ezekiel chapter 1 they paint a picture of the entourage that God moves with, and how they function in God.

“But thou art holy, O thou that inhabitest the praises of Israel,” Psalms 22:3

The word says that “When I am lifted up I will draw man unto me” and it is with such that when God shows up where He is worshipped, where he is lifted up that He displaces evil or darkness. Darkness flees at the very site of God. Most times we do not even know that God has fought for us that warfare has already taken over, God fights for us without us as we worship him.

So the basic thing to say is that where God is lifted up, He shows up, and we should anticipate His arrival with gladness because we know that the armies of the Lord will fight darkness on our behalf whilst we falling in  love and adoring God and worshipping Him. God fights for us, it comes about when we lift him up in earnestness and with a heart.

Think of this, what made the walls of Jericho to fall, who did the fighting, what kind of strongholds or mountains were being brought down as they worshipped God? “And ye shall compass the city, all ye men of war, and go round the city once: thus shalt thou do six days. And seven priests shall bear before the ark seven trumpets of rams' horns: and the seventh day ye shall compass the city seven times, and the priests shall blow with the trumpets. And it shall come to pass, that when they make a long blast with the ram's horn, and when ye hear the sound of the trumpet, all the people shall shout with a great shout: and the wall of the city shall fall down flat, and the people shall ascend every man straight before him. Joshua 6:3-5

Walls of Jericho fell at the blast of the trumpet on the seventh day, you want to learn about how to war in the spirit, first one needs to know the effect of things we do when we worship God. Who can understand how power of the trumpet made the walls to crumble, can you understand it, so is it with worship and spiritual warfare, you need God to understand it.

What made the walls of Jericho fall in Joshua 6, it’s the power of God that was released as the children of Israel offered up a sacrifice of obedience to the Lord and it is such an offering of worship   of which they were told to do. Israel did not know the power of what they were doing, marching around the wall as they were singing and praying.

It is when we offer up earnest worship to God that spiritual warfare starts to occur we might not see it or feel it but the armies of the Lord fight for our lives. When we worship there is as power that is unleashed upon us, someone once said the devil does not mind when people pray because he can swindle away their blessing but when the worship he cannot stop God from unleashing his power onto the man and he in turn suffers

So learn to offer earnest worship and do not offer it ignorantly or without focus or heart, pray that God opens up your eyes and mind to him. Worship is one gift to mankind that changes our lives when it is offered in obedience and with the heart. Watch out for part 2 or this message next week.

Characteristics Of A Worshipper

Being a child of God and being called a Christian qualifies a person to be a worshipper, whether you have a sweet voice or a horsey voice, whether you can dance or you have CRD (Caucasian Rhythm Disorder) in God’s books you qualify as a worshipper.
