The Priesthood of A Worshipper Part 2

Caution! The words in this article may offend some people, please take no offence it’s what the bible says and we are just interpreters.

Looking at the lives of Old Testament who were sold out, lived their whole lives separated and living their live for the call of God. As you read this, God called you a priest whether you are a worship leader, singer or you don’t have the ability to sing but you are good at SMI (shower ministries international) or may term yourself an ordinary Christian. We are all called to worship, so we are all Priests after the order of the Lion of Judah.

“Neither shall they shave their heads, nor suffer their locks to grow long; they shall only poll their heads” Ezekiel 44:20 As you read this verse many will tell you that “God looks at the heart”, but reading these chapters of Ezekiel 44, worship is more than just having the  heart. The heart matters a lot in addition to the heart there is also presentation, there is dressing, consecration, our daily lives and conduct. On this verse God specifically states that priests are meant to cut their hair, so as to look and be presentable before the people and the Lord. It matters how you present your self before a King of Spain, a man, then why do you present yourself in the opposite when you are meeting God, the King of Kings.

“Neither shall any priest drink wine, when they enter into the inner court”, Ezekiel 44:21. I did not say that don’t drink wine, beer or spirits on Saturday and then come and lead worship on Sunday, exactly what the Bible is against. God looks for priest to live a life that is pure. Wine, beer or spirits destroy that purity quality that God is looking for in every person. God seeks an order of priestly worshippers who are pure in heart, mind and soul living just to glorify Him alone. God is out here to look for purity within us.

“Neither shall they take for their wives a widow, nor her that is put away: but they shall take maidens of the seed of the house of Israel, or a widow that had a priest before”, Ezekiel 44:22. God did not want Israelites to marry for themselves foreign women because of the influence of their foreign cultures and their foreign gods. God did not want foreign gods and cultures to rule in Israel and especially priests. People looked up to priest and such an act would destroy the fiber of the Israelite society of which the priests where integral

God doesn’t not want us to get married to foreign things, things of this world and  in Ezekiel God speaks that you have created gods in your minds. Though we do not worship other gods by mouth or actions but in our minds we have gods such as money, cars, property and even sexuality issues which have become our Gods and we have forsaken the one true god because we have chose foreign women.

“And they shall teach my people the difference between the holy and profane, and cause them to discern between the unclean and the clean”, Ezekiel 44:2.  We have come to a place were generations have lost sight and an understanding of what worship is all about. We as priest we need to teach those who have been misinformed about the truth about worship. When you read the book of Revelation you will find that heaven is built or is constructed around worship. So worship is central to God’s heart and it should be same thing on which our lives are built around just as it to God. Our lives are no longer centered on worship but on things that God gives. We need to teach those who have been misinformed on the truth of worship and for us to build our lives around worship.

“The priests shall not eat of any thing that is dead of itself, or torn, whether it be fowl or beast”, Ezekiel 44:31.  We have to consecrate ourselves to the things of God and not to feed from the things that defile the earth and its endless is riches which take us away from God. We should not defile ourselves with the things of this earth whatever it maybe. We have to safeguard or purity and holiness from this world, guard our lives with total jealousy for God.

We can learn a lot of things just from reading about the lives of and consecration of the priest and their lives as ministers. We should aspire to live a consecrated life, a life that lives to worship God alone and always in everything we do just as priest did.

“Worship Him in the Beauty of His Holiness”
