The Priesthood of A Worshipper

Looking at the lives of Old Testament who were sold out, lived their whole lives separated and living their live for the call of God. As you read this, God called you a priest whether you are a worship leader, singer or you don’t have the ability to sing but you are good at SMI (shower ministries international) or may term yourself an ordinary Christian. We are all called to worship, so we are all Priests after the order of the Lion of Judah.

Caution! The topics and views in this article may offend some people, please take no offence it’s what the bible says and we are just interpreters. Email me what you think about some of these topics.

So we are going to be looking at how priest lived their lives, what stipulations did they have to lie by, also their workings and this would give us place for us to understand what God wants our lives to be lived as. We are looking in the book of Ezekiel 44 were God is restoring the priestly order of its position as thy are coming from exile and you will learn a lot of things as I did.

“They shall enter into my sanctuary, and they shall come near to my table, to minister unto me, and they shall keep my charge.” Ezek 44:16 When you stand to worship God which charge (agenda) are you representing, are you in his presence to bless God or you there to extract (on your own agenda) from God. Think about it, are you worshipping so that you may be seen by men or the pastor or you are worshipping Him to bless Him. Which charge are you keeping yours or God’s? Think about it.

“And it shall come to pass, that when they enter in at the gates of the inner court, they shall be clothed with linen garments; and no wool shall come upon the,”, Ezekiel 44:17. I Love this verse in that God is asking and making it clear that the priest should never minister to Him away from the Holy of Holies. A huge debate dangles over clothing, how we dress for worship, we are not going to tackle that in this article.

A simple meaning of the word minister is, to serve, to attend to, to worship, to wait upon and also too be occupied by. God wants us to minister to him not in the outer court or inner court but in the Holy of Holiness, God here stipulates to the Priests that they have to move out of the inner court and minister (worship) Him in his presence. God invites us t worship Him in  His presence, in the Holy Of Holies where he abides.

“They shall put off their garments wherein they ministered, and lay them in the holy chambers”  Ezekiel 44: 19 God gave priest specific garments which they would wear each and every time they went in to minister to Him and they would change into their own clothes afterwards. God has given clothes (garments) to all worshippers on today “the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness” Isaiah 61:3.  God has given to all of us a garment of praise but the beautiful thing about this garment is a garment we do not take off, jut like Old Testament priests changed.

Worship is a lifestyle so we live with this garment on us; we never put it down because when we walk, breathe, move and live our lives, we are just worshipping God. That’s our difference with Old Testament priests in that, we minister to God 24/ 7 because  our bodies are the temple of God  and that priests were limited to a temple and  to a certain time of worship, we glorify God wherever we are and at whatever time we offer praises God. We were made the temple of God and that we never remove our priestly garments hence we worship everywhere.

So we are worshippers and priests, I  hope you have learn  a lot of things but follow up the Part 2 of this article where we finish off this teaching about worship and priesthood lesson drawn out.

“Worship Him in the Beauty of His Holiness”
