Worship Is and Can Be Dangerous Part 4

Worship is and can be dangerous to everyone around you especially if it is bounces from heaven. We have to take time to learn how to handle a knife before we can use it. Worship is a great blessing to the body of Christ as it allows us direct access to the throne room anytime of the day but it can also destroy us if handled wrongly just like knife.

Today we start in 1 Samuel 13 where we meet King Saul facing war with the Philistines and they set a very huge army “thirty thousand chariots, and six thousand horsemen, and people were like the sand which was on the sea shore in multitude”.

Saul brought all Israel to the war ground, so that they could fight with the Philistines, one huge problem was that Israel was in terror and was frightened of the huge Philistines army that was against them.

“And he tarried seven days, according to the set time that Samuel had appointed: but Samuel came not to Gilgal; and the people were scattered from him. And Saul said, Bring hither a burnt offering to me, and peace offerings. And he offered the burnt offering. And it came to pass, that as soon as he had made an end of offering the burnt offering, behold, Samuel came; and Saul went out to meet him, that he might salute him”. 1Samuel 13:8-10 KJV

King Saul in this passage of 1 Samuel 13 truly reveals that

  • He became impatient because this was the last day, the seventh day that Prophet Samuel was to come.

  • “I forced myself therefore, and offered a burnt offering”.

  • He was not set to offer as it was Samuel task

After Saul disobeyed the word of God, Samuel walked up on the scene. If you don’t know your position and place in God you will jeopardize a lot of people condition even though you are doing the right thing, honourable but the question is. Is it sanctioned by God?....

What Saul the King did changed the course of his own life and also the whole Israelite kingdom. Saul was anointed, even at one point prophesied under the power of the Holy Spirit, had Prophet Samuel he was his advisor and man of God. From this point on the kingdom of Israel was divided from the hands of Saul, something because of something he did believing that it was the good thing.

Are we listening to heaven, have you taken time to listen to God and hear how he desired to be worshipped. ““One has to dig into the heart attitude, what God requires from you, not what you feel like doing for Him” Wilhelm Olivier”

Follow your pastor, leader, set person, he or she is your Samuel,  sometimes we loose sight instead of us bringing the church to the knees of Jesus, we bring them to our knees and we have stolen God’s blessing and position and we have placed ourselves on that place. We are sometimes more excited about our offering more than we are excited about the move of God.

We are so moved by how good we sang and how we killed the song and the high chords, so excited about how much money we have sown into His work more than we are excited about getting God’s attention and presence. Even when Abraham offered the sacrifice it was consumed by fire God didn’t even touch it. What moved God was the obedience from which his worship emanated.

Worship Him In The Beauty Of His Holiness.
