Worship Is and Can Be Dangerous Part 2
In 2 Samuel 6:3, we meet King David carrying the Ark of The Lord into
Jerusalem upon an ox drawn cart with huge celebrations and festive ambiances,
ululating, dancing and music which were shortly cut when Uzzah was struck down
by God as he was helping the stumbling Ark of the Lord.
“And the anger of the LORD was kindled against Uzzah; and God smote
him there for his error; and
there he died by the ark of God” 2Sa 6:7s
When the Ark was in the presence of the Philistines they were attacked
by different diseases, Dagon fell face wards when the Ark was housed in the
temple of Dagon. The Philistines shuddered when they heard noises in the Camp
of Israel they knew that the Ark of God was brought into their camp.
There are so many points that
we can learn from this story but the key ones for this article are listed below
1. The ark was carried in an ox drawn cart or covered wagon it was a
Philistine system in which they used to transport the Presence of God which
they so desired in Israel. They did the work of God using foreign methods.
2. The ark
was meant to be carried by Pole Bearing Levites not any person or individual. “But
unto the sons of Kohath he gave none: because the service of the sanctuary
belonging unto them was that they should bear upon their shoulders”.
Numbers 7:9 KJV
Whether you are a worship leader, singer, temple musicians, artist,
dancer, priest, pastor or just a Christian who does not even hold any position
in life or society. The question for today is that do you understand the role
you play. Do you understand that it’s not just the heart that you have for God
but it’s also your delivery method. Its not just a good heart but its also the
attitude that you carry about the offering you are giving.
“And that ye may put difference between holy and unholy, and between
unclean and clean”, Leviticus 10:10 KJV. Pst H. Mutize once said, “Prayer
relives but knowledge delivers”. When we have revelation everything changes.
Bishop Hall said it is a dangerous thing in the service of God to
decline from his own institutions, just to require what he has prescribed and
powerful to revenge what he has not prescribed.
I am writing this article not to scare you or anything, I am writing
it to you so that you may come to the place where you understand and value the
position, rank or what you do when you worship.
It wasn’t Uzzah’s fault that he died, it was the system that made
Uzzah to sin through ignorance. Don’t worship out of ignorance. Sometimes what
we think is worship isn’t worship at all. Don’t worship with good intentions or
just a good heart, ask of the Lord.
Do you even ask the Holy Spirit our “paraclete” and teacher how to worship God? Learn from the Holy
Spirit the manner in which God desires to be worshipped and worship Him in the
manner that you are taught.
Worship Him
In The Beauty Of His Holiness.
