Lifestyle of Worship
Worship is giving, offering, presenting glory,
honour, majesty, power and worth to Him who seats on the throne and this is
done in various ways. One would use music, one could serve God, one would
minister to God, surrender his or her life towards God, one would kneel, one
would dance and one would live his life consecrated for God. There are many
ways to express our worship. Worship starts from the heart and we use whatever
we have to express it to God.
Today when I read this scripture in Ezekiel 46,
it took me aback and this came out of this scripture.
“And thou shalt daily offer a
burnt-offering unto Jehovah, of a yearling-lamb without blemish: thou shalt
prepare it morning by morning”, Ezekiel 46: 13. Basically here God is
instructing Israel that they offer a lamb which a year old every morning of
their lives to God.
Theologists agree that on this chapter God did
not demand an evening sacrifice as he had done in the past. Sacrifices in the
Old Testament were mostly done in the morning and then an evening sacrifice.
There were several types of sacrifices such as the Sin offering, burnt
offering, a sacrifice of peace offering, meat offering and drink offerings.
It’s the aspect of worship, worship is a daily
lifestyle, it is not something you do but it is the important thing that you
live for. Worship goes beyond singing, worship is bigger and better without
words. It’s the aspect of glorifying God that makes all the difference.
Look at your life are you a Sunday Worshipper or you worship God daily, it’s
your personal lifestyle, a huge part of your character and manner. Do you live
daily just to bless God?
Living to bless God as a daily lifestyle, it
should be a way you live daily, I am taken to the story of Noah “And Noah
builded an altar unto the LORD; and took of every clean beast, and of every
clean fowl, and offered burnt offerings on the altar. And the LORD smelled
a sweet savour; and the LORD said in his heart, I will not again curse
the ground any more for man's sake; for the imagination of man's heart is evil
from his youth; neither will I again smite any more every thing living, as I
have done”, Genesis 8:20-21 (KJV).
Though
Noah’s experience happened once it is the effect of the sacrifice that I want
us to look at
1. God smelt the offering
2. God Said to his heart
3. Made a covenant with Noah for the whole earth.
It is the
power of sacrifice that I want us to look at, worship is a sacrifice and when
done daily and always it yield such a blessing to God. With the right motives
and heart in the manner that God looks at. Our worship will bring glory to God
always and he will find pleasure in our lives. Would you not want such a life?
As
the verse states that they offered worship (sacrifices) to God daily, what I am
here to talk about is the state of our worship when it is done in a manner that
blesses God.
Let’s
not get lost in worshipping God on Sunday but may we be madly in love, stare
and admire him daily. May our reverence and intimacy be beyond words, songs and
music to become a lifestyle, our lives becoming a song and its lyrics.

Him in the Beauty of His Holiness”
