Worship: Battle Strategies....

Scene of World War II Battle Front
A war is a sustained fight between two armed groups of people and then a battle is those areas or places that are fought in the duration of the war. I have heard this saying, the devil won this battle but he hasn’t won the war. Our war is with devil always but in the duration of that war they are smaller battles that we fight every day in our lives and our lives as worshipers whether dancers, mimes, singers, painters or musicians.

Yes we are, yes we are in a war, war within and war on the outside, battle never stops raging day and night. It actually gets hotter with each day and sometimes we fumble on how we do things, at times we lose sight of what God is doing but we also win some battles.

Every battle or war has a strategy that is implored in winning that battle and It’s not always about firepower that wins the battle but strategy. Looking in the word we start with Israelites ready to conquer Jericho but God tells them the strategy.

“… compass the city seven times, and the priests shall blow with the trumpets. And it shall come to pass, that when they make a long blast with the ram's horn, and when ye hear the sound of the trumpet, all the people shall shout with a great shout…” Joshua 6:4-5

God told Israel them to
  1. Compass the city seven times
  2. Priest (not anyone) will blow trumpets
  3. Long blast of rams horn
  4. Great Shout

And the three companies blew the trumpets, and brake the pitchers, and held the lamps in their left hands, and the trumpets in their right hands to blow withal: and they cried, The sword of the LORD, and of Gideon...” Judges 7:20-21

God told Gideon to
  1. Blow trumpets
  2. Break pitchers (empty clay jars)
  3. Held lamps (torches) in the air
  4. Blow trumpets
  5. Shout the sword of the Lord and of Gideon

2 Chronicles 20:20-22 has its own strategy as well when King Jehoshaphat was faced by the Ammonite and Moabite army. Every battle has a strategy and the key is in getting and doing that strategy

God is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow but He doesn’t reveal himself in the same way. God is always revealing himself to us in a different and unique way all the time and we need to be aware of that. Today He desires to reveal himself as a God of love we can’t have a healing theme or song list, tomorrow He wants to reveal himself as a God of war we can sing have a love set list, then he want to reveal himself as a Father then we have a thanksgiving set list. We have to learn to know what God is doing and hear from him the battle strategy before going out to war and then be destroyed because we employed the wrong strategy.

Every battle has a strategy, every day, every time you stand to minster there is new strategy the question for today is, what has God shown you as the battle strategy?

As you step outside of your house what the plan? Yes worship but which angle, Spontaneous worship, declaratory worship, warfare worship what’s the strategy? Have you listened to the Lord to hear the way and manner in which he desires us to approach the battle?

Be not afraid or dismayed by reason of this great multitude; for the battle is not yours, but the battle is the Lord's”. 2 Chronicles 20:15 and so if it is the battle is the Lord shouldn’t we hear from Him how he wants us to come into the battle.

Today’s strategy might not work tomorrow. May we listen and obey his words for the war goes on but we need to win every battle.

May we hear, obey and do what He shows or speaks to us as battle strategies, may we always seek his strategies always.

Worship Him In The Beauty Of His Holiness
