The Power of Worshipping At His Feet. Part 2

Image
Part 2 of the importance of worshipping at the feet of the Lord and going through scripture to see the kind of gates that are opened being at his feet with the focus is to understand what we are doing Being at the feet of the Lord from the last issue we saw that at his feet we find grace and mercy, his feet are a place of healing and also that his feet are a place reverence and honour simply a perfect place to worship.   The feet of the Lord also represent ·           Feet represent a  place of healing: “And great multitudes came unto him, having with them those that were lame, blind, dumb, maimed, and many others, and cast them down at Jesus' feet; and he healed them”,  Matthew 15:30 “For a certain woman, whose young daughter had an unclean spirit, heard of him, and came and fell at his feet”,  Mark 7:25 “Came behind him, and touched the border of his garment: and immediately her issue of blo...

The Power of Worshipping At His Feet

Image
A lot of scripture references in the bible speak about feet, especially during the ministry of Jesus a lot of people threw themselves at his feet and worshipped him. My question came around onto why did they focus at his feet or why did they have to throw themselves at his feet. “In Israel a lot of the people wear sandals more so in bible and the fact that much of the land there is arid to desert conditions and with little or no protective cover their feet would accumulate lot of dust. Custom was when someone enters your house you either provide water or your servant would wash their feet. It is a general rule with the Jews “that whoever anoints his feet, is obliged to washing or dipping.'' and  neglect of washing, disrespectful to guest. “ ... Behold, I will make them to come and worship before thy feet, and to know that I have loved thee”.  Revelations 3:9  I pray that God may teach us the importance of worshipping at his feet and use that avenue to open d...

Why Brokenness Part 2

Image
“ When it comes to being broken before the Lord, which is best: asking the Lord to break us or breaking ourselves before the Lord. Do we either ask God to break us or we choose to break us? “The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite (smitten, broken in pieces) heart, O God, thou wilt not despise”, Psalms 51:17.   Brokenness is a state of being living a smitten or shattered life and when you look at all the references of brokenness in the bible you will find out that God speaks of a brokenness of heart and also speaks of brokenness of the Spirit.  A lifestyle where your heart and mind are in awe or God and then we break our bodies through fasting and praying where your will is no longer that which rules but the will of God is supreme. “The LORD is near unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit”, Psalms 34:18 . This verse also says that the Lord is near the broken hearted, ready to hear...

Why Brokenness. Part 1

Image
Brokenness is a pivotal part of a worshipper lifestyle and that is one thing that separates worshippers apart. To break simply means to destroy, shatter into pieces. Brokenness also speaks about humility and a repentant heart and lifestyle “Whosoever shall fall upon that stone shall be broken; but on whomsoever it shall fall, it will grind him to powder”,  Luke 20:18.   This verse for me embodies brokenness and it explains the life of a worshipper. By reading this we see that brokenness is a choice we have in life either we allow God to fall upon us or we fall upon the rock and this explains a question that I was asked . “ When it comes to being broken before the Lord, which is best: asking the Lord to break us or breaking ourselves before the Lord. Do we either ask God to break us or we choose to break us? A crushed heart is a fragrant heart , have you ever been in a church where the Pastor or Worship leader are just broken people, there is just a sweet ta...

Worship From An Alabaster Flask Part 2

Image
We continue our journey of Worship from an Alabaster Flask with a Part 2 in which we take the account of St Joh n Chapter 12:1-9 . Like we said in the previous article Jesus was anointed with oil twice in his life, at the start of his ministry just after he chosen the 12 disciples. The second time he was anointed was at the end of his ministry in the house of Martha (it was Martha’s house) whose brother was raised from the dead Lazarus and it was just before Jesus was crucified. It’s amazing how the same incident would happen in the life of our Lord and the most amazing thing about these two incidents is that the first anointing from the flask prepared Jesus into his ministry and the last time it prepared Jesus into his death. The worship of both these women met a need that was not seen or conceived by the human eye. I pray that God opens our eyes to understand the value and importance of what we do. Martha and Mary were hosting Jesus and the disciples in their ho...

Worship From An Alabaster Flask Part 1

Image
Alabaster Flask Worship is worship from deep within the recess of the Spirit, it’s not for show off but the glorification of God. It is an overflow from within a heart that is pouring itself before God. There two accounts of women breaking alabaster flask of costly ointment onto Jesus. The first one is the account of Luke which happened at the start of Jesus’ ministry and the other account was 2 days before Jesus was crucified in a village called Bethany in the house of Simon the Leper. Today we start our story in Luke 7: 36-50 where Jesus is just starting ministry and this account of Mark puts Jesus in the house of Simon the Pharisee. A woman who is considered to be a prostitute this is seen in the way they labeled her to Jesus and this woman burst into the room full of Pharisees and Jesus disciples who are reclining at the table eating and she had with her an alabaster box of ointment. She came to Jesus and worshipped him without words She broke the b...

Worship Isn’t A Carnal Weapon

Image
Worship is vehicle that allows us access into God’s throne room and access to his presence. Worship allows us to express our gratitude and heartfelt desires to God, it is a blessing to mankind because it has opened a platform for us to commune with God. Worship glorifies and blesses God and it’s in the process that you find that the satanic kingdom is destroyed. Over time we have learnt that worship is a very powerful weapon for mankind in fighting evil.   Studying the scriptures I found out that for worship to be a mighty weapon, the focus and object of that worship should totally be God and no one else. In the scriptures listed below you will see that it was when Israel sought God and made the focus of their worship on lifting up God and putting their eyes and confidence in God not their enemies. God would ask them to worship and their deliverance would come through their worship. Why does God send trained warriors to the battle field to worship and not to lift up ...
