The Real Presence Of God

Image
You walk into any church and you will hear them singing about the presence of God or talking about the presence of God.  Lord we want to see you in your presence, Lord we want to know your presence, may we meet with in your presence this morning.   If you are lucky you will hear statements like this "the presence of God is here so lift up your hands". As a worshipper, church member or usher in your church, whichever department you serve in, I want to ask you this question, do you know what the presence of God is all about? Do you have a revelation of what the presence of God is all about? Today we are not talking about what the presence of God is and is not, we are not talking about the attributes of the presence of God either. The presence we speak about and write about do we understand it.  I see Ezekiel at River Chebar and God shows him vision of things to come all he could do was fall down until God spoke to him. When the real presence of G...

Open My Mouth, Praise Overflow

Image
Someone once wrote that or mouths are open sepulchers (tombs), that at times, is proven true by the way we live our lives.  James 3:10 states that, " Out of the same mouth proceedeth blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not so to be " I know they are those who were born and bred in the church and haven’t allowed foul things to flow and roll out of their lives but then when you look at the way God created things. Our mouths are instruments of worship just as much as our lives are lived for worship. King David one certified sinner who had a huge heart for God’s ways and truth, once cried out to the Lord in Psalms 51 which was written after he had realized his sin with Bathsheba and he just breaks down before God and he asks " O Lord, open thou my lips; and my mouth shall shew forth thy praise " Psalm 51:15 KJV  May the cry of hearts be nothing else but that our mouth may be vessel and instruments of worship, D...

Entering His Presence

Image
A few weeks ago, we had a bible with my family and we were talking about the presence of God and Psalm 100:4 came to the fold of this debate and this question was asked, "since we are people of the New Testament and also we are in an era of the Holy Spirit. Do we enter into his presence or we live in his presence?     " Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name " Psalm 100:4 KJV In church you will have worship leaders saying “Let Us Enter God Presence”. As a church and as worship leaders do we understand what we say or have we become so accustomed to a notion and understanding which we are not even sure of. 1.       If you say you enter in, it also means you will leave. So if we say that we enter in it means that at the end we will leave or exit the presence of God. As worshippers we don't enter & leave afterwards or do we live in his presence. 2. ...

Dont Despise Your Past

It’s All In The Past...  Basically modern day worship is what it today because of one man, Kind David. The man whom God considers to be a man after his heart but the very same man was a sinner on a grand level, God looked past that and still loved him.  David was Was born out of wedlock - David wasn't a legitimate child because he wasn't recognized as son by his father Jesse No kingly right - David had no right to the throne he wasn't Jonathan brother or even any Saul's sons. He had no right to be king whatsoever or any birthright No Levitical or priestly background or training. A Shepherd boy - the son of Jesse was a Shepherd and used to start far away from home tending sheep which weren't many.   His brothers say to him “whom have you left with those few sheep” A Cast away from family - his family had no regard for him and they looked down upon him. David slew Goliath, he won battles, became King, won more battles and he organized Israel...

Convenient Worship: Life of a Present Day Worshipper

Image
Hosea 4:13 (KJV) They sacrifice upon the tops of the mountains, and burn incense upon the hills, under oaks and poplars and elms, because the shadow thereof is good: therefore your daughters shall commit whoredom, and your spouses shall commit adultery. Israel dumped their temple of Yawheh and also Baal shrines and created new ones on the  roof tops of their houses and under trees because they wanted shade. 1. Israel became professional idolators as they mixed with Canaan, they became good at being religious and killing sacrifices just because they wanted a braai.  We have turned to being professional in all we do (its a good thing being pro but not at the expense of God) but are we worshipping professionalism more than the One we meant to serve. 2. They changed their focus of worship for convenience sake. Does that sound like someone you know. Do we worship because it convenient, so i get to be recognized and noticed, or if I don't go to church today and sing for t...

What is Worship?

Image
Whilst praise in an expression of admiration and appreciation, worship is an expression of love and adoration. It is possible to admire someone and appreciate what they do without loving them. Worship has to do with our love for the Lord that is, giving Him our whole heart and life. We express our feelings towards God. This is why the greatest commandment is “Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind” [Matthew 22:37]. The Bible commands us to worship God. Israel was to worship God as Lord and Him alone. “I am the Lord thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. Thou shalt have no other gods before me.Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth: Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the Lord thy God am a jealous ...
