Worship! An Attitude of the Heart and Spirit

This article today is on one of the reason we found in our series on the reasons why we worship God. So here it goes Worship is an attitude of the heart and spirit “God is not moved by the expression we do in worship, God is more interested by the heart behind the worship” “Worship is not all about you and your needs” “Worship is a state and attitude of both heart and spirit” When our hearts and spirit are broken, contrite, and full of adoration we learn to worship from the depths of our lives and God is pleased by such worship. Man was created for worship it is the first thing you subconsciously or consciously just like we were taught to say thank you. When we kneel, clap, sing, jump and kneel are all expressions which the heart is emoting. Worship starts from the heart, worship is about the heart and then the heart expresses this emotion by kneeling, singing, jumping and all sorts of expressions. They are all expressions of the overflow of our hearts to the love o...

So You Worship Because You Seek Revelation of Who He Is.

Image
Good Day Worshipers Think about it you worship God because you seek revelation is that wrong we say NO. “We cannot truly worship God and remain unchanged” Geoff Bullock “Worship God with revelation, worship without revelation is dull”, Matt Redman God is shrouded in mystery and the only way to get this revelation is by worship. When we worship God with all earnestness and from deep within the recesses of our hearts, we are guaranteed of a meeting with God face to face, it is such worship that will help you to get a hold of God seeing him it is because God manifest himself where he is properly worshipped. The first day of existence for the 24 elders and heavenly host, from the moment they started to worship they had an idea just like the first day you worshipped God when you gave your life to God. It is the more they worshipped that God revealed himself more to them but it was because the worship they offered. Today they will see a di...

Is That the Reason You Worship Him Because He is Just God

Good Day  We are learning the reasons why we worship God and we find out that they are lot of them and today we are learning one more reason why we worship God. “Ascribe to the Lord Glory due to your name. Worship Him in Holy array”. Psalms 29:2 “Ascribe the Glory that is due his name” 1 Chronicles 16:29 “The Lord is the only object or reason for worship”. Unknown Man always looks for a reason why do I do this and what is the use of us doing this. We have just have to learn to worship God with the simple reason that he is God alone, Holy, Mighty. Most of the times men worship God when God has done something in their lives its their reason for worshipping God because He has done something for them or they want something form God. “And he said, blessed be Jehovah, the God of Israel”, 1Ki 8:15 this was Solomon’s words as he offered an offering of 1000 bulls before God. People in the Old Testament sacrificed many animals and God was moved by the heart behind the sacrif...

Basis Of Worship by Rock Presely

Good Day Worshipers Commanded Worship was a article I wrote and Rock Presely replies me and I found his article amazing that I had to post it, so here it goes. You know, I have a hard time being motivated out of being told that I have to worship God. By that, I mean how many of us have discovered an authentic relationship with the Father because he said so, or we read that it was right. Rather, we have done so because he is our hearts desire and we have experienced his love and mercy. I don't worship God because he says so, but because as was said by Wannabe above, I was made to, and because I know him, I can't really help myself...sometimes. I equate it to this. When I tell my five year old to pick up his toys, he has a choice to be obedient or not. Hopefully he choses to be obedient, and typically he will receive a reward for his actions, but ultimately, as my son, he has to obey his dad. But there are times when he is motivated out of other means, like time...

Commanded To Worship

Good Day Worshippers Why do we Worship is that basis of our discussion, we found out that one of the reason why we do worship God is because we are commanded to worship God. “Thou shall worship the Lord your God and only Him shalt thou serve” Mathew 4:10 “Worship the Lord in Holy Array tremble before the Him all the earth” Psalms 96:9 “The people I formed for myself shall declare my praise”. Isaiah 43:21 “Ascribe (Give) unto the LORD the glory due unto his name: bring an offering, and come before him: worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness”. 2Chronicles 16:29 Looking at these verses we see that God requires and commands us to worship Him, there are so many scriptures that show forth that worship is a command. As you can see in the scriptures above there is no negotiation or anything like that we were created to bless, love, glorify God with all we have, why did it became a command is because for us to know God intimately the one greatest vehicle he created for us to...

Worship Creation

Good Day Worshippers “We were created to worship and it not an option”. “It’s our nature to worship, and if we do not worship God we will find something to worship”, Pst Bonnie Deuschle “The people I formed for myself shall declare my praise”. Isaiah 43:21 There are so many reasons why we worship God and we are going to be taking and breaking some of the major reason found throughout the scriptures and we breakdown so that we may understand God’s original intent. So let dig together and understand such. Of everything that we have in our lives there is that God has given us there is nothing that God requires of us except worship. The prayers we pray, the fast we and do the offerings we give don’t change God they only change and bring me the offerer closer to God, He only requires worship because it draws us closer to him. Worship is like a reflex muscle in our body, it’s in embedded in us and we were created with such a make to give God glory and worship. Just take a look at...

Why Did God Create Worship

“That which consumes the total energies of Heaven should be the perfect template for the earth to emulate” Author Unknown Why did God create worship is the question? God is surrounded by worship in heaven, on his throne there is a 24hour worship services that has been perpetually ongoing. Why did God fill heaven with worship it is because it glorifies him and it brings him pleasure? “For the LORD taketh pleasure in his people: he will beautify the meek with salvation”. Psalms 149:4 The heavenly realm worship God from a point and a level where they are servants, angel and seraphims, worship as servants worship as servants but God not for us to enjoy worship but he created or extended worship to mankind for it to be a vehicle which is to carry mankind to a certain destination. That certain destination is the presence of God and God wants mankind to enjoy his presence not the worship. God receives Glory and pleasure and we stand to be in his presence enjoying Him and his presence...

Doors Open Up Worship

Good Day “ 1 Early in the morning Joshua and all the Israelites set out from Shittim and went to the Jordan, where they camped before crossing over. 2 After three days the officers went throughout the camp, 3 giving orders to the people: "When you see the ark of the covenant of the LORD your God, and the priests, who are Levites, carrying it, you are to move out from your positions and follow it. 4 Then you will know which way to go, since you have never been this way before. But keep a distance of about a thousand yards between you and the ark; do not go near it." Joshua 3:1-4 Worship is all about the world of giving glory to God and it’s done in that Spirit and if it is done in the spirit it changes the whole outlook of glorifying God. The spirit is there to lead us to worship him at his throne. The Israelites were told that the when you see the Ark of Covenant move you are to move with it, they had to pack their tents, bags, food and all their good s and follow the ...

Dangerous Worship

Are you worshiping God aright or you are doing it wrongly, are you receiving a blessing or you are incurring a curse when you are worship God. In 1 Chronicles we meet David and al Israel carrying the Ark into seal and as I was reading it was a wonderful revelation about worship altogether. 1 Chronicles 13:8-11 “And David and all Israel played before God with all their might, and with singing, and with harps, and with psalteries, and with timbrels, and with cymbals, and with trumpets. And when they came unto the threshing floor of Chidon, Uzzah put forth his hand to hold the ark; for the oxen stumbled. And the anger of the LORD was kindled against Uzzah, and he smote him, because he put his hand to the ark: and there he died before God. And David was displeased, because the LORD had made a breach upon Uzzah: wherefore that place is called Perez-uzza to this day.” Reading this passage was amazing in that David and all Israel had a right heart, right zeal of bringing the Ark of God i...

Glorious Worship

‘Whatsoever you do, do all ‘to the’ glory of God’, 1 Corinthians 10:31 It’s in the recess of the spirit that we know what Worship is, and when divulging the word of God we realized that Worship is the centre of our lives. Just like I Corinthians speaks we know understand that worship goes beyond singing into our daily lifestyle because here Pastor Paul did not speak about singing glory but actually living ‘to the’ glory of God . Worship is about giving glory to God and it is done in several ways, several postures and in several places. Worship is ascribing glory, honour, power, dominion and praise to God. Ascribe means to present, give, offer and even means to surrender something to someone. We ascribe, give, present, offer, and surrender all glory to God. What is glory, glory is the beauty, the splendor, the majesty, the effulgence, the glitz, the power the light, the authority and the honour that’s God abides in So here 1 Corinthians speaks that let all we do be to the majesty, honou...

Worship Aint Just Singing Part2

Worship Is Not Just Singing. Part 2 In the last post we began to expand and bringing to an understanding to a myth we have encountered “Worship is singing”. Today we are going to finish the last part of that of that article and explain that worship is not just singing but it is our daily lifestyle of bringing God glory. Hebrews 13:15 states “By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name”. It shows us that worship can be seen in the fruit of our lips, our works on their own should bring glory to God. This can be seen in 2 Chronicles 9:3-9 were the Queen of Sheba gave glory to God when she saw the works that King Solomon She gave God glory to God in response to what she saw in Israel, what can man see in our lives, character, lifestyle, things we own that they can bless God, just as the fruit of our lips should glorify God, the fruit of our work the fruit of our lives and the fruit of our families shou...

Worship Aint Just Singing

Worship Is Not Just Singing “True Worship is much more than singing songs we like to sing” Geoff Bullock “In our culture singing has become almost synonymous with worship” In the recent post we have been looking at the meaning of the word Worship and its formation from a Greek and Hebrew language perspective and how it was formed in the English Language. This has brought a lot of understanding to us and today we continue to dig deeper into the word of God so to understand more about worship. People believe and understand that Worship means to exalt, to praise, to lift, to ascribe, to magnify God in song its because they are used to the 30 minutes of praise and worship alone that they have in the church on the Sunday before the pastor preaches, this is what they believe worship is all about. The first mention of worship in the bible was in Genesis 22:5which states “stay here whilst I and the lad go yonder and worship and come again”. We read in the preceding verses that Abraham had no ...

What Does the Word Worship Mean Part 2

Good Day All Yee Worshipers In the recent post we looked to see the word worship and what that word meant according to its structure from an English perspective and now we are going to look at its Hebrew and Greek origins and see how it was structured and glean God`s original perspective of what worship meant to Him. 1. In the Old Testament Hebrew Bible the word that often used to represent worship is “Hishtachawah” of which the basic meaning means “to bow down in reverence and submission” it involves bowing completely before a sovereign as a sign of deep respect, humility and surrender. Reference to this Is 1 kings 1:23 and Nehemiah 8:6 and also Leviticus 9:24 “did obeisance (hishtachawah) to the king with his face to the ground kneeling completely” 1King s 1:23 2. What Does the Word Worship Mean?

Good Day All Yee Worshipers We have taken off aboard the Worship Airways and we start to glide through the air in worship and also to live for worship, our first stop is going to be, what is Worship? Worship is an individual adoration of God; it is a one man’s band. As we yearn to learn what worship is all about we will start with defining what the term worship mean. The Word “Worship” defies definition as it is too big a word to define or breakdown fully, for today we will start to break it down. We will look at how the English Language came up or structured and formed the word worship. The term worship carries several meanings attached to it but when we break its structure we will also understand more and more about worship. a. Worship comes from two Old English Words combined together which are “Worth” and “ship” or “scip” which then make up “Woerthscipe” altogether which means to ascribe quality of having worth or to ascribe the quality of being worthy b. Worship also comes from ...

Incense Of Worship, Ingridients Of Worship

Good Day All Yee Worshippers Exodus 30:34-38 God directly teaches Moses on how to create pure and holy incense which was to be holy and pure of which worship is. Worship is supposed to be pure and holy, this incense was to be made from very rare ingredients which are 1. Stacte – which is the sap from a tree and it represents oozing out as droplets which shows that the word of God which is stored inside of us should oozes out of us in worship. 2. Onycha- a sweet smelling shell found on the shores of the Red Sea in the Indian Ocean the shell is grinded to produce a powder. In worship onycha represents brokenness and we talked about brokenness last week. 3. Galbanum- juice of a shrub which grows in Africa, Arabia and India it was what held together the incense that was offered to God daily and continually in the tabernacle. 4. Pure Frankincense- an aromatic gum that comes from a tree in India which is precious and it speaks of purity, to overcome, to shout as a shout of praise. It means t...

Brokeness The Main Ingredient Of Worship

Good Day All Worshippers “You shall make it a perfume, a confection after the art of confectionary , tempered together pure and holy and thou shall beat some of it and put it very small before the testimony in the tabernacle of the congregation…” Exodus 30:35 Worship is the main ingredient, main foundation, major requirement and also major standing that is offered by a man with a brokenness of heart. Worship is centre hood of God, it’s the heart of God and therefore it requires a broken heart to connect us to Him Brokenness of heart look like a small matter, but it is the determining factor. In Exodus 35 Moses was told to mix a pure and holy perfume which is worship. Its main ingredient was to beat down to make the perfume strong and effective. When a heart is broken it oozes out with love, honor, reverence, fear and knowledge of God. It’s the brokenness of your heart that will take you deeper to the very heart of God. “A broken and contrite heart, O God you will not despise” Psalms 51...

Revelation Worship

All Yee Worshippers In this post post we are going to focus on How worship is done biblically taking it from the book of Revelations. Revelations 5:12 “to him who sits on the throne and unto the lamb be blessing , honour, glory and power for ever and ever”. The bible states that all creation heavenly and earthly should join to bring/ ascribe/to offer unto God blessing, honour, glory and power. I realized that these four words blessing, honour, glory and power encompass the word worship. Worship is just represented by these four words, worship is not just singing it’s a lifestyle so you can sing it, walk it, live it, its basis is that you are giving God glory at all times. Meaning Blessing –thanksgiving, praise, love Honour- respect, fear , reverence, acknowledgement Glory -beauty, splendor, light, effulgence, radiance Power- authority, power, majesty, kingship, governance These words represent all the worship creation should give, angels and creation in heaven should worship in ...
